JUSTIFICATION
In order to form this lesson plan we decided to use several techniques. First we
started getting some techniques from the constructivism theory. In the lesson plan we decided to
make a conversation about their previous knowledge about the rules in class, if they agreed or
not. Then we started to get some techniques from other approaches and methods for each
activity:
Activity # 1
Communicative Language Teaching
The purpose of this activity is to make students be interested in the topic and we can
accomplish that by forcing them a little bit more than the usual. Focusing with the rules of the
class makes students to have a discussion with their classmates.
Activity # 2
Task based learning
In this case teacher is not giving a direct grammar instruction. Here is Inductive Grammar
teaching. The learners learn the language by interacting communicatively and purposefully
engaging a real situation with the activity in class.
Activity # 3
Communicative language teaching
The teacher communicates and interacts with the students with some questions. The
teacher also use variable material based on the topic of expressions.
Activity # 4
Silent method
The teacher is the monitor, and the student does all the production by creating their own
responses putting together new and old information about the topic of presented in class.
Activity #5
Audio lingual method
Teacher use the repetition of drills on webquest homework to reinforce the students
learning and to get into practice with more exercises using technology. Also the students get to
review what they had learned previously.
On this lesson plan we consider some important aspects about theories we had seen
previously. We had considered that it’s very important to mention the “Information processing
perspective”, because we had observed that the students have a specific way to acquire the
language and to process it into the brain, they were transforming the linguistic concepts in order
to facilitate the meaning. Also we had observed that the students were having a little trouble
producing the language, and for that we decided to take into account some techniques from
“Negotiation for meaning”, students interacting and at the same time making some adjustments in
order to facilitate communication. However, we also had consider that a teacher should use
more” Stephen Krashen’s theory” because we had understood that to learn a second language
it’s not necessarily to use extensive grammatical rules, and it does not require to use tedious
drills.
We also have mention that it’s very important to adequate tasks and activities for
teenagers in order to have the students’ attention and a well comprehensible learning. Since te
students are going through a lack of responsibilities in school, we decided to make some
activities that will make them feel more responsible and wise.
