4. Task: look at the Examiner mark scheme below and
match the definitions to each area
Getting ready for C2 Proficiency Writing Part 1
1 Content A focuses on how appropriate the writing is for the
task and whether the candidate has used the
appropriate register
2 Communicative achievement B focuses on vocabulary and grammar. This includes
the range of language as well as how accurate it is.
3 Organisation C focuses on how well the candidate has fulfilled the
task, in other words if they have done what they were
asked to do.
4 Language D focuses on the way the candidate puts together the
piece of writing, in other words if it is logical and
ordered.

Now explain to students that they are going to look at some candidate answers to the question, but before they do so, they are going to look at how the examiners mark the writing.
