Be Newsworthy
 We all know we are talking about your brand here,
but focus on being informative. Go above and beyond
on your topic, entertain, and focus on the quality of
your writing and relevance of your subject. You
might offer special deals, exclusive information, but
do this wisely. They gave you their email address,
now you deliver value.
Grow an Email List
 First, be smart on where you put the sign up forms.
Be attractive and put in a spot where people can see
it. More importantly, let them know “what’s in it for
me?” right away, and ask your reader to add your
email in their address book. After that, keep track of
your statistics.
Be Mobile Friendly
 Your statistics might say that fewer people open your
e-newsletter on smartphones, so maybe you don’t
actually have to worry about optimizing your emails
for mobile. However, these few could turn into many
in the future, and they probably will, so make sure
your content looks great on desktop and on mobile.
Personalize Your Content
 Instead of using the traditional “Dear [Blank]” try to
use people’s first name and be more personable as if
you are addressing them directly. When users read
an email that sounds like a robot they tend to delete
it and unsubscribe. Also, segmenting your email
lists can help you to not send the wrong message to
the wrong person. Not everybody has to receive all
your emails because not everybody is interested in
the same topics.
Be Transparent
 Tell your readers what kind of content they will read
and how often they will receive it. You already have a
strategy; you know what you will talk about and
when you send those emails. Just let your
subscribers know, that will definitely keep them with
you.
