Alps Alpine (Japan) Presents New Touch less Control Panel Proposal with
Hygiene Benefits
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
9
Solution Description
Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. presents a new proposal in the form of a touch less control panel for situations when touching is undesirable, not possible or not allowed in
settings such as medical or nursing care or public facilities. Market research is currently underway with an eye toward commercialization in around 2021.
Downsizing and advanced functionality are aims behind recent replacement of switches with touch panels as the input and control technology for a wide range of
devices – not only smart phones and car navigation systems, but also digital home appliances and security equipment. Devices with touch panels are also being
introduced for tasks traditionally performed via communication between people or with writing, such as ordering at a restaurant, front desk operations at public
facilities, and recording of clinical notes by medical professionals. Here the objectives are labor saving and greater efficiency. Use of touch panels for input and
control will continue to grow. However, we have discovered there are many situations where people feel either physically or psychologically uneasy about touching
a panel because they wonder who else might have touched it, or because it is dirty, or their own hands are dirty. Visitors to medical facilities, for example, might
be concerned about the risk of contracting a disease from an item because they do not know who has touched it. Some people might have distaste for dirty surfaces
on ticket machines in train stations or flush buttons on toilets in public facilities. Others might want to avoid operating a home appliance while eating sweets with
their hands or while cooking in the kitchen. In situations like these, touch panels could potentially lose their convenience factor.

Alps Alpine (Japan) Boosts Production of Ventilator Control Device
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
10
Solution Description
Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. has established capacity for an increase in production of its EM11B Series magnetic encoder, used as a control device for
ventilators, in response to higher demand due to the spread of novel corona virus disease COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has tightened the global
supply of ventilators and heart-lung machines, which are considered effective tools for treating the disease. In light of the circumstances, many
manufacturers in Japan and overseas are boosting production of these machines in response to requests made by governments and other parties. Alps
Alpine’s EM11B Series magnetic encoder (pictured)*1 is employed in ventilators as a control device for adjusting volume, pressure and aspiratory time
for delivery of air to the patient, as well as for switching between these modes. The product has been rated highly for its excellent operability, reliability,
compact size and other features. Responding to requests from ventilator manufacturers for an increase in production, Alps Alpine has established
capacity for monthly output of 100,000 units, more than five times the normal volume. Supply has already begun. Further production adjustments will
be made as required to accommodate customer needs and the situation of infections, among other factors. Increasing production involved securing
capacity with temporary adjustments made to production for other uses. While this may inconvenience other customers already using the product, we
ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Analog Devices (USA) Announces Industry’s First Software Configurable
Industrial I/O for Building Control and Industrial Automation
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
11
Solution Description
Analog Devices, Inc. announces the release of the industry’s first Software Configurable Input/Output product line for building control and process
automation, allowing manufacturers and industrial operators to achieve greater control system flexibility while reducing their own product
complexities. Traditional control systems require costly and labor-intensive manual configuration, with a complex array of channel modules, analog and
digital signal converters, and individually wired inputs/outputs to communicate with the machines, instruments, and sensors on the operating floor.
ADI’s new AD74412R and AD74413R enable flexible control systems to be designed with reconfigurable module channels quickly, easily, and
remotely without requiring extensive re-wiring. This drastically increases speed of implementation, flexibility, and the ability to make changes without
significant cost and downtime. As Industry 4.0 emerges, manufacturers need flexible systems that can quickly and easily adapt to changing
requirements, all driven by shifts in consumer behaviors and demand. As a result, they can no longer rely on fixed, large-scaled systems designed for
mass-market products and predictable demand. Instead, flexible systems that can be reconfigured quickly with minimal downtime and capital
investment are required. With ADI’s software configurable I/O, manufacturers can more efficiently implement new projects and achieve more flexible
automated control, resulting in reduced design and installation costs, as well as reduced commissioning delays.

Arrow Electronics (USA) launches integrated bi-directional power converter
solution for advancing vehicle-to-grid technology
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
12
Solution Description
Global technology-solutions provider Arrow Electronics today launched an integrated bi-directional power converter solution for equipping electric vehicles
with a robust mobile energy charger, capable of both storing electricity and contributing excessive energy to power homes and network grids if needed.
Advancing such vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid capabilities helps smooth momentary spikes in electricity demand, capitalize on untapped energy
sources during battery idle period, and thus promote a more sustainable and energy-efficient development of smart cities. Electrifying transportation has been
regarded as one of the key drivers in addressing global climate challenges. According to the International Energy Agency, by 2030 there will be 125 million
EVs touring around the world’s highways and byways1. As EV adoption is on the rise, there is growing concern about the operation of current energy grid
infrastructures. V2G and V2H will enable both energy storage and contribution of excessive energy back to the network grid and community. With the
bidirectional converter, EVs can be used to supply electricity to a house or a building which then help reduce pressure on the national supply grid. The
bidirectional power converter solution consists of three key elements for implementing a scalable, cost-effective and energy-efficient converter: a
high-efficiency bridgeless power factor correction; a V2G bi-directional charger; and a communication module protocol in compliance with ISO15118
standard. Compared to traditional silicon materials, the PFC and DC-DC power supply with silicon-carbide MOSFET technology result in less powerless,
smaller form factor, and lighter weight.

Autodesk Construction Cloud (USA) Adds Assets Module, Allowing Teams to
Track Project Assets through Entire Building Lifecycle
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
14
Solution Description
Autodesk, Inc. announced the early release of the BIM 360 Assets module within Autodesk Construction Cloud. The BIM 360 Assets
module enables construction teams to track and manage project assets through the entire building lifecycle – from design through
handover – from one centralized location. The new module also gives construction teams increased access to asset data in the field,
allowing them to perform commissioning and resolve defects on-site, decreasing the time to operations and ultimately reducing risk. The
new BIM 360 Asset module will be included as part of BIM 360 Build subscriptions and generally available starting in mid-June. BIM
360 Assets can easily track all construction assets such as materials, components and equipment, moveable equipment (forklift, excavator,
concrete buckets) and rooms or areas. Traditionally, assets have been tracked using multiple spreadsheets or paper-based tools, a
disorganized and time-consuming process particularly when an asset needs to be accounted for throughout the lifecycle of a project.
When asset data is disconnected from the project and in siloes, asset tracking – such as determining the installation status of an HVAC
unit, pinpointing the location of an excavator or scheduling interior finishes that require a long lead time – can be inefficient.

Solution Description
FUJIFILM Corporation is commencing a research study to develop Artificial Intelligence -based technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment assessment
of patients with COVID-19-induced pneumonia. The technology for quantifying the lesions of interstitial pneumonia*, co-developed with Kyoto University,
will be applied to the project. The company will now embark on a joint research study with local medical institutions treating COVID-19 patients, starting
with the Kanagawa Cardiovascular and Respiratory Center. The spread of the novel corona virus, which causes COVID-19, has emerged as a serious issue
around the world. The world has yet to see clear judging criteria for determining the effectiveness of various treatment options, currently explored by doctors.
In order to confirm the progression of pneumonia and the effectiveness of treatments, doctors need to examine hundreds of chest CT images for each patient
to visually check the characteristics of ever-changing lesions and it puts a serious strain on specialists. There are expert opinions that COVID-19-induced
pneumonia presents similarly to interstitial pneumonia in diagnostic images and has diverse variations in lesion patterns. Fujifilm's CT quantification
technology for interstitial pneumonia is powered by an AI-based software that examines CT images to identify bronchi, blood vessels and normal lungs in
lung field** as well as seven types of lesions such as reticular opacities, ground-glass opacities and honeycomb lungs***, and automatically carries out
categorization and measurement to quantify lesions of interstitial pneumonia. It also divides the lung field into 12 zones*4 and shows the volume and ratio
of lesions for each of the zones so that clinicians can examine the distribution and progression of lesions within the lung field in details.

Solution Description
Renesas Introduces New I3C Bus Extension Products. The new products include the IMX3102 2:1 bus multiplexer, IMX3112 1:2 bus expander, and
IXP3114 and IXP3104 1:4 general-purpose IO expanders, which support up to 12.5MHz speeds as well as integrated thermal sensor capability. These
new products provide maximum design flexibility for engineers implementing I3C Basic as a system management bus in applications where there may
be multiple masters, a large number of endpoint devices, and long traces – all of which can impact bus complexity and signal integrity. The integrated
thermal sensor allows for better integration of thermal management into the bus design itself and can reduce the number of dedicated thermal sensor
endpoints. Next-generation computer architectures are leading the transition to I3C as the system management bus of choice following the JEDEC
standard adoption of I3C Basic for the DDR5 memory sideband. The increase in memory subsystem complexity with distributed power management,
telemetry and thermal management at the sub-channel level requires higher sideband bus bandwidth. Furthermore, emerging needs for advanced
thermal control loops, security and component authentication, and more robust fault tolerance and recovery are driving similar needs for a high
bandwidth interface across the entire server control plane. I3C Basic provides an ideal solution to serve all of these needs.

Analog Devices’ (USA) MEMS IMU Enables CHC Navigation's Pocket RTK to
Achieve High-Precision and High-Efficiency Positioning
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
41
Analog Devices, Inc. announced its high-precision inertial measurement unit has been selected by CHC Navigation to enable its next
generation, real-time kinematic rover receiver, which can achieve high-precision and high-efficiency positioning and measurement at any
position through the combination of satellite and inertial positioning. RTK rover receivers are widely used in the fields of autonomous driving,
construction surveying, and conventional mapping. The 3-D coordinates of the rover are calculated in real time according to the relative
positioning principle and based on the signals received from satellites and those observed by reference stations. Most RTK products on the
market rely on geomagnetic calculations to measure the dip angle. This method, however, is highly susceptible to external environment
interference. Most RTKs containing IMUs are also large, heavy and susceptible to ambient temperature. CHC Navigation, a leader in
high-precision satellite positioning, adopted ADI's high-precision IMU in its latest pocket RTK to effectively resolve these issues and make
the portable RTK more efficient and reliable, resulting in high-precision positioning in complex environments with dip angle range as wide
as ±60°. ADI's IMU combines the precision gyroscope and accelerometer on multiple axes, which can reliably sense and process data with
multiple degrees of freedom even in extremely complicated applications and dynamic conditions.

Travel agencies using Amadeus’ B2B Wallet for virtual payments now benefit from advanced process automation. Software robots to help agents
switch to virtual payments more easily. The integration of Troovo’s advanced Robotic Process Automation engine with Amadeus’ B2B Wallet
means the entire virtual payment flow can now be automated very quickly, helping the travel industry digitally transform B2B supplier payments.
The way travel agencies pay travel providers, like airlines, is changing as virtual payments replace traditional methods and legacy payment
processes. This move to virtual cards helps to reduce fraud, mitigate risks associated with supplier default, increase efficiency, and can even help
to improve travel agency margins. While there are many advantages to virtual card payments, significant systems integration work has been
necessary, until now. The introduction of RPA means key data relating to each payment and booking can be moved between the booking system
and the airline Passenger Service System or the hotel Property Management System automatically by a software robot. Software robots are a
light-weight tool that can quickly be configured to complete basic business processes, such as entering a 16-digit virtual card number, or travel
booking details, from a travel agency system into an airline or hotel system to complete a payment.

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. have jointly developed the world's first piezoelectric fabric "PIECLEX" that
generates electrical energy and exhibits antimicrobial performance when a motion is applied. Also, Murata and Teijin Frontier jointly established
PIECLEX Co., Ltd. as a joint venture company for the purpose of research, development, manufacturing and sales of this fabric. PIECLEX fabric
realizes antimicrobial performance by converting motions such as human movement into electrical energy by combining Murata's piezoelectric
technology cultivated through development and manufacture of electronic components with Teijin Frontier's fabric technology, which spans from
yarns and materials to product manufacturing. PIECLEX also contribute to protecting the global environment as it uses plant-derived polylactic
acid as its raw material and does not apply chemical agents and organic solvents. PIECLEX uses PLA, which is produced by fermented starch
extracted from plants to produce lactic acid then bonded. Since plants absorb carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and synthesize starch, PIECLEX
does not increase the total amount of carbon dioxide that causes global warming. PIECLEX fabric generates electricity by using the expansion and
contraction of the fabric produced by human movement or other motions. This enables antimicrobial and deodorant functions without using
chemical agents or organic solvents, helping to reduce the environmental load.

  • 15. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Alps Alpine (Japan) Presents New Touch less Control Panel Proposal with Hygiene Benefits For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 9 Solution Description Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. presents a new proposal in the form of a touch less control panel for situations when touching is undesirable, not possible or not allowed in settings such as medical or nursing care or public facilities. Market research is currently underway with an eye toward commercialization in around 2021. Downsizing and advanced functionality are aims behind recent replacement of switches with touch panels as the input and control technology for a wide range of devices – not only smart phones and car navigation systems, but also digital home appliances and security equipment. Devices with touch panels are also being introduced for tasks traditionally performed via communication between people or with writing, such as ordering at a restaurant, front desk operations at public facilities, and recording of clinical notes by medical professionals. Here the objectives are labor saving and greater efficiency. Use of touch panels for input and control will continue to grow. However, we have discovered there are many situations where people feel either physically or psychologically uneasy about touching a panel because they wonder who else might have touched it, or because it is dirty, or their own hands are dirty. Visitors to medical facilities, for example, might be concerned about the risk of contracting a disease from an item because they do not know who has touched it. Some people might have distaste for dirty surfaces on ticket machines in train stations or flush buttons on toilets in public facilities. Others might want to avoid operating a home appliance while eating sweets with their hands or while cooking in the kitchen. In situations like these, touch panels could potentially lose their convenience factor.
  • 16. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Alps Alpine (Japan) Boosts Production of Ventilator Control Device For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 10 Solution Description Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. has established capacity for an increase in production of its EM11B Series magnetic encoder, used as a control device for ventilators, in response to higher demand due to the spread of novel corona virus disease COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has tightened the global supply of ventilators and heart-lung machines, which are considered effective tools for treating the disease. In light of the circumstances, many manufacturers in Japan and overseas are boosting production of these machines in response to requests made by governments and other parties. Alps Alpine’s EM11B Series magnetic encoder (pictured)*1 is employed in ventilators as a control device for adjusting volume, pressure and aspiratory time for delivery of air to the patient, as well as for switching between these modes. The product has been rated highly for its excellent operability, reliability, compact size and other features. Responding to requests from ventilator manufacturers for an increase in production, Alps Alpine has established capacity for monthly output of 100,000 units, more than five times the normal volume. Supply has already begun. Further production adjustments will be made as required to accommodate customer needs and the situation of infections, among other factors. Increasing production involved securing capacity with temporary adjustments made to production for other uses. While this may inconvenience other customers already using the product, we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
  • 17. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Analog Devices (USA) Announces Industry’s First Software Configurable Industrial I/O for Building Control and Industrial Automation For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 11 Solution Description Analog Devices, Inc. announces the release of the industry’s first Software Configurable Input/Output product line for building control and process automation, allowing manufacturers and industrial operators to achieve greater control system flexibility while reducing their own product complexities. Traditional control systems require costly and labor-intensive manual configuration, with a complex array of channel modules, analog and digital signal converters, and individually wired inputs/outputs to communicate with the machines, instruments, and sensors on the operating floor. ADI’s new AD74412R and AD74413R enable flexible control systems to be designed with reconfigurable module channels quickly, easily, and remotely without requiring extensive re-wiring. This drastically increases speed of implementation, flexibility, and the ability to make changes without significant cost and downtime. As Industry 4.0 emerges, manufacturers need flexible systems that can quickly and easily adapt to changing requirements, all driven by shifts in consumer behaviors and demand. As a result, they can no longer rely on fixed, large-scaled systems designed for mass-market products and predictable demand. Instead, flexible systems that can be reconfigured quickly with minimal downtime and capital investment are required. With ADI’s software configurable I/O, manufacturers can more efficiently implement new projects and achieve more flexible automated control, resulting in reduced design and installation costs, as well as reduced commissioning delays.
  • 18. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Arrow Electronics (USA) launches integrated bi-directional power converter solution for advancing vehicle-to-grid technology For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 12 Solution Description Global technology-solutions provider Arrow Electronics today launched an integrated bi-directional power converter solution for equipping electric vehicles with a robust mobile energy charger, capable of both storing electricity and contributing excessive energy to power homes and network grids if needed. Advancing such vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid capabilities helps smooth momentary spikes in electricity demand, capitalize on untapped energy sources during battery idle period, and thus promote a more sustainable and energy-efficient development of smart cities. Electrifying transportation has been regarded as one of the key drivers in addressing global climate challenges. According to the International Energy Agency, by 2030 there will be 125 million EVs touring around the world’s highways and byways1. As EV adoption is on the rise, there is growing concern about the operation of current energy grid infrastructures. V2G and V2H will enable both energy storage and contribution of excessive energy back to the network grid and community. With the bidirectional converter, EVs can be used to supply electricity to a house or a building which then help reduce pressure on the national supply grid. The bidirectional power converter solution consists of three key elements for implementing a scalable, cost-effective and energy-efficient converter: a high-efficiency bridgeless power factor correction; a V2G bi-directional charger; and a communication module protocol in compliance with ISO15118 standard. Compared to traditional silicon materials, the PFC and DC-DC power supply with silicon-carbide MOSFET technology result in less powerless, smaller form factor, and lighter weight.

  • 20. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Autodesk Construction Cloud (USA) Adds Assets Module, Allowing Teams to Track Project Assets through Entire Building Lifecycle For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 14 Solution Description Autodesk, Inc. announced the early release of the BIM 360 Assets module within Autodesk Construction Cloud. The BIM 360 Assets module enables construction teams to track and manage project assets through the entire building lifecycle – from design through handover – from one centralized location. The new module also gives construction teams increased access to asset data in the field, allowing them to perform commissioning and resolve defects on-site, decreasing the time to operations and ultimately reducing risk. The new BIM 360 Asset module will be included as part of BIM 360 Build subscriptions and generally available starting in mid-June. BIM 360 Assets can easily track all construction assets such as materials, components and equipment, moveable equipment (forklift, excavator, concrete buckets) and rooms or areas. Traditionally, assets have been tracked using multiple spreadsheets or paper-based tools, a disorganized and time-consuming process particularly when an asset needs to be accounted for throughout the lifecycle of a project. When asset data is disconnected from the project and in siloes, asset tracking – such as determining the installation status of an HVAC unit, pinpointing the location of an excavator or scheduling interior finishes that require a long lead time – can be inefficient.

  • 49. Customer Success Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Analog Devices’ (USA) MEMS IMU Enables CHC Navigation's Pocket RTK to Achieve High-Precision and High-Efficiency Positioning For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 41 Analog Devices, Inc. announced its high-precision inertial measurement unit has been selected by CHC Navigation to enable its next generation, real-time kinematic rover receiver, which can achieve high-precision and high-efficiency positioning and measurement at any position through the combination of satellite and inertial positioning. RTK rover receivers are widely used in the fields of autonomous driving, construction surveying, and conventional mapping. The 3-D coordinates of the rover are calculated in real time according to the relative positioning principle and based on the signals received from satellites and those observed by reference stations. Most RTK products on the market rely on geomagnetic calculations to measure the dip angle. This method, however, is highly susceptible to external environment interference. Most RTKs containing IMUs are also large, heavy and susceptible to ambient temperature. CHC Navigation, a leader in high-precision satellite positioning, adopted ADI's high-precision IMU in its latest pocket RTK to effectively resolve these issues and make the portable RTK more efficient and reliable, resulting in high-precision positioning in complex environments with dip angle range as wide as ±60°. ADI's IMU combines the precision gyroscope and accelerometer on multiple axes, which can reliably sense and process data with multiple degrees of freedom even in extremely complicated applications and dynamic conditions.
