Infrastructure Modeling and Simulation Technology
Autodesk, Inc. announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Portland,
Oregon-based Innovyze, Inc., a global leader in water infrastructure software, for $1 billion
net of cash subject to working capital and tax closing adjustments. The acquisition positions
Autodesk as a technology leader in end-to-end water infrastructure solutions from design to
operations, accelerates Autodesk’s digital twin strategy, and creates a clearer path to a more
sustainable and digitized water industry. Innovyze’s modeling, simulation, and predictive
analyses solutions enable more cost-effective and sustainably designed water distribution
networks, water collection systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, and flood
protection systems. Further, Innovyze’s solutions centralize infrastructure asset visibility to
optimize capital and operational expenses. Combining Innovyze’s portfolio with the power
of Autodesk’s design and analysis solutions, including Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk
InfraWorks, and the Autodesk Construction Cloud, offers civil engineers, water utility
companies and water experts the ability to better respond to issues and to improve planning.

HP Inc. to Acquire HyperX
HP Inc. announced a definitive agreement to acquire HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston
Technology Company. The acquisition supports HP’s strategy to drive growth in its Personal Systems
business, where gaming and peripherals are attractive segments. HyperX’s award-winning product
portfolio spans a range of gaming peripherals, including headsets, keyboards, mice, mouse pads, USB
microphones, and console accessories. PC gaming continues to be one of the most popular forms of
video gaming, with the PC hardware industry anticipated to be worth $70 billion by 2023.[i] The
global peripherals market is expected to grow to $12.2 billion by 2024, with gaming peripherals
representing a disproportionate share of this growth. HP has built a large and growing global gaming
portfolio in recent years, led by its OMEN brand and a world-class ecosystem of hardware, software,
content, and services. The company continues to push progression in gaming with powerful devices
like the OMEN 15 gaming laptop and the HP Pavilion Gaming 16 laptop. Beyond devices, HP is
driving software innovation with OMEN Gaming Hub, a destination for players to connect,
customize, and explore their gear and games. Adding HyperX to HP’s broader gaming ecosystem will
deliver innovative new experiences across everything gamers see, hear, and touch. Under the terms of
the agreement, HP will pay $425 million, subject to customary working capital and other adjustments,
to acquire HyperX’s gaming peripherals portfolio. Kingston will retain the DRAM, flash, and SSD
products for gamers and enthusiasts. The acquisition is expected to be accretive on a non-GAAP basis
to HP in the first full year following closing. The transaction is expected to close in calendar Q2 2021,
pending regulatory review and other customary closing conditions.

service

Cloudflare has announced "Project Fair Shot". Project Fair Shot will provide a digital waiting room "Cloudflare Waiting Room"
in front of each registration site of government agencies, local governments, hospitals, pharmacies, etc. that promote the
provision of the new corona vaccine. The Cloudflare Waiting Room can be set up in front of any registered site without the need
for engineering or coding. If you use this, the person who applied for vaccination will be notified that they have joined the queue.
As your turn approaches, you will be directed to the registration page of the vaccine provider. This will allow vaccination
applicants to check the transparency of their turn at home. By using Cloudflare's global infrastructure for the service, users will

Dell Technologies announced an investment of US$50 million (approx. S$66 million) over three years since 2019 in the establishment of a Global Innovation
Hub (GIH) in Singapore. Of that planned investment, US$23 million (approx. S$30 million) will be invested this year. Supported by Digital Industry
Singapore (DISG), these investments will go towards accelerating developments in digital experiences and research & development (R&D) capabilities. The
GIH is launched under the Dell Technologies Digital Future - Made in Singapore initiative that aims to fast track the adoption of digital solutions and drive
digital innovations developed in Singapore for partners and customers globally to be future-ready. A first-of-its-kind innovation centre situated outside of the
company’s global headquarters in the United States, the GIH will focus on advancing multiple growth areas for digital transformation including
augmented/mixed reality, data analytics, cloud-native, cybersecurity and edge computing. It is also home to a specialised team responsible for enhancing user
experiences through innovation. In addition, the GIH houses existing R&D facilities in Singapore such as the Singapore Design Centre – responsible for

vendor MediaTek, enabling commercial device testing to accelerate chipset production. Ericsson and FET provide MediaTek
with a private network solution that uses FET's commercial 3.5GHz and 28GHz spectrum. MediaTek's three manufacturing
partner sites and its headquarter campus in HsinChu Science Park will all benefit. Dedicated Networks is Ericsson's private
network solution. The private network enables MediaTek to fully utilize FET's band mix in low-, mid- and high-bands,

Fujitsu Launches AI-powered Physical Rehabilitation Solution "HOPE
ROMREC" in Japan

Fujitsu announced the launch of a new AI-powered physical rehabilitation solution in Japan, the "FUJITSU Healthcare Solution HOPE
ROMREC", offering medical institutions like hospitals and clinics a powerful new tool for rehabilitation and orthopedic therapies. The solution
leverages a new AI technology to automatically measure the range of motion (1) of the shoulder and elbow joints from videos of patients'
rehabilitation sessions. Going forward, Fujitsu plans to continue strengthening the HOPE ROMREC solution and increase the number of
measurement sites for range of motion detection. Fujitsu additionally plans to incorporate functions including automatic measurement of range of
motion by simply sending video taken by a patient at home to their hospital or clinic, contributing to the realization of remote rehabilitation. In
rehabilitation therapy, measuring range of motion is necessary to determine factors inhibiting joint movement, evaluate the effects of physical and
occupational therapy, and determine the extent of a patient’s condition. Physical therapists and occupational therapists make these measurements
visually using goniometers, etc., however, which contributes to variation in measurement values from person to person. Conventional automatic
measurement of range of motion demands special equipment, such as an acceleration sensor, which have not yet been widely implemented in the
field. In addition to the system input work of measurement values, therapists now must also carry out extensive disinfection in rehabilitation areas
to prevent COVID-19 infections, increasing the burden on medical facilities.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise accelerates space exploration with first ever
in-space commercial edge computing and artificial intelligence capabilities

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced it is accelerating space exploration and increasing self-sufficiency for astronauts by enabling real-time data
processing with advanced commercial edge computing in space for the first time. Astronauts and space explorers aboard the International Space Station (ISS)
will speed time-to-insight from months to minutes on various experiments in space, from processing medical imaging and DNA sequencing to unlocking key
insights from volumes of remote sensors and satellites, using HPE’s Spaceborne Computer-2 (SBC-2), an edge computing system. Spaceborne Computer-2
is scheduled to launch into orbit on the 15th Northrop Grumman Resupply Mission to Space Station (NG-15) on February 20 and will be available for use
on the International Space Station for the next 2-3 years. The NG-15 spacecraft has been named “SS. Katherine Johnson” in honor of Katherine Johnson, a
famed Black, female NASA mathematician who was critical to the early success of the space program. The upcoming launch of Spaceborne Computer-2
builds on the proven success of its predecessor, Spaceborne Computer, a proof-of-concept that HPE developed and launched in partnership with NASA in
2017 to operate on the International Space Station (ISS) for a one-year mission. The goal was to test if affordable, commercial off-the-shelf servers used on
earth, but equipped with purposefully-designed software-based hardening features, can withstand the shake, rattle and roll of a rocket launch to space, and
once there, seamlessly operate on the ISS. The proof-of-concept addressed the need for more reliable computing capabilities on the ISS, or low Earth orbit

Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced the development of a technology that automatically detects different work elements—for instance,
"removing a part," "tightening a screw," or "installing a cover"—from video data consisting of a series of tasks from manufacturing lines and
other places of manual work. Conventionally, in workplaces like factories, efforts to improve productivity and enhance quality have included
recording the work of staff and identifying and improving upon problems in different work elements from the data. To measure the time
required for each work element from the video data, however, it’s necessary to divide video data into separate work elements manually. This
often means that the man-hours required to measure the time for each work element is several times to several tens of times more than the total
length of the video. Fujitsu has expanded upon its "Actlyzer" technology for detecting human movement and behavior from video data, and
developed an AI model that takes into account the variation of each movement and the difference in individual workers’ movements, using
work data from one person and the data divided by each work element as training data. When this technology was applied to the analysis of
operations at Fujitsu I-Network Systems Limited’s Yamanashi Plant (Location: Minami Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture), it was confirmed
that work tasks could be detected with 90% accuracy and that the results could be used to improve the efficiency of operations analysis.

The Arista Multi-Domain Macro-Segmentation Service, introduced this week, builds a zero-trust architecture around data and services on the
network. The system comprises technology within Arista's CloudVision management console and EOS network operating system. Arista provides
open APIs to third-party tools for more advanced zero-trust features, including those from Arista partner Forescout Technologies. Forescout

Nokia and Vodafone have announced the successful trial of a new Passive Optical Network (PON) technology capable of delivering speeds up to 100 gigabits per second (Gb/s) on a
single wavelength 10 times faster than the most advanced networks available. This marks the latest industry-first in fiber access for Nokia, following breakthroughs in 10G PON,
TWDM-PON, universal PON and 25G PON. The trial, which took place in Vodafone’s Eschborn lab in Germany last week, is the latest milestone in a long-standing collaboration
between Vodafone and Nokia to accelerate the potential of fiber broadband. The demand for broadband connectivity continues to grow exponentially in terms of the service types,
number of connected devices and the bandwidth consumed. It is essential that future fixed access networks have the capacity to absorb this growth. To deliver 100 Gb/s on a single
wavelength, Nokia Bell Labs leveraged cost-effective 25G optics in combination with state-of-the-art digital signal processing (DSP) techniques. 25G class optics are based on mature
eco-system and available. Going beyond 25G requires advanced DSP capabilities demonstrated in this trial. Once this DSP is adopted, the steps to 50G and 100G are straightforward
and could be commercially available in the second half of the decade. The Nokia Bell Labs 100G PON prototype is the world’s first application of flexible rate transmission in a PON
network. Flexible rate transmission works by grouping fiber modems (ONUs) that exhibit similar physical network characteristics and makes data transmission more efficient. Using
flexible rate transmission results in lower latency on a PON and cuts power consumption in half — two essential characteristics for fiber networks that have a rapidly growing role in
the massive delivery of fixed and mobile broadband services. Vodafone has a history of pioneering state-of-the-art access technologies, having been the first operator in Europe to trial
TWDM-PON, also with Nokia. The operator has the largest next-generation access network capability in Europe, covering 140 million homes. Vodafone’s strategy is to push fiber
deeper to customers and evolve to a unified fiber-based network for access, aggregation, backhaul of cable nodes and mobile transport. Vodafone see 100G PON as a potential way to
create highly flexible and scalable PON networks that will mitigate the risk of future peak-hour congestion and enable densification of cable and mobile networks.
