AppDirect Secures $185 Million of Funding to Fuel Global Expansion
AppDirect, the leading subscription commerce platform, announced investments of US$185
million from global institutional investor Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ)
and existing investors. The $185 million in funding brought the total equity raised by
AppDirect to approximately $465 million.Since its funding round in 2015, AppDirect has
experienced tremendous growth across all indicators—increasing Gross Merchandise Value
(GMV) more than 1500 percent since 2015 to over US$1 billion, expanding its global
footprint, and servicing more than 2000 merchants around the globe. The new funding
supports accelerated organic expansion, strategic acquisitions and additional hiring.In just
the last few years, the “old” world of products and one-time transactions has transformed into
a new era of subscription commerce with predictable, recurring revenue for everything from
software and consumer media streaming services to heating and air conditioning
maintenance. However, many companies are running into the limits of their subscription
billing tools, making it difficult to bring products to market quickly, creating a disjointed
customer experience and management challenges. Organizations now need to support full
subscription commerce. This transition includes integrating commerce flows from any
online or off-line sales channels while at the same time meeting customer demand for instant
provisioning of tools and services.

Merck Announces € 59 Million Antibody-Drug Conjugate Manufacturing
Expansion
Merck, a leading science and technology company, announced a € 59 million expansion
of its HPAPI and ADC manufacturing capabilities and capacity at its facility near
Madison, Wisconsin, USA. This investment will allow large-scale manufacturing of
increasingly potent compounds for therapies that have the potential to treat cancer.
Completion is expected by mid-2022 and should add approximately 50 full-time jobs
starting in 2021.Merck’s new 6,500-square-meter commercial building in Madison,
Wisconsin, USA will be one of the largest dedicated HPAPI manufacturing facilities
specifically designed to handle single-digit nanogram occupational exposure limit
materials. The project is an addition to the company’s campus in St. Louis, Missouri,
USA, which was the first commercial ADC facility in North America and which
specializes in ADC bio-conjugation, active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipient and
adjuvants manufacturing. ADCs are an emerging class of medicines designed for
high-specificity targeting and destruction of cancer cells, while preserving healthy cells.
There are now only nine ADCs approved globally. However, the ADC industry is
delivering strong growth and is expected to reach € 13 billion by 2030.

approval in recent years demonstrate their promise as a targeted therapy,” said head
of Process Solutions, Life Science, at Merck. “With more than 35 years of experience

BMC to Acquire Alderstone

Silicon intellectual property provider CAST, Inc. and developer Fraunhofer IPMS announced a new option for their popular CAN 2.0
and CAN FD Controller IP Core that adds support for the evolving CAN XL standard.CAN XL is a new data communications
protocol under development since 2018 by the CAN XL Special Interest Group organized by CAN in Automation (CiA) with the
participation of automotive and semiconductor representatives (including Fraunhofer IPMS). The goal is to give the CAN protocol
“extra-large” capabilities by increasing its data payload size—to 2048 byte—and its transmission bit rate—up to 10 Mbit/s—while
retaining interoperability with CAN 2.0 and CAN FD. CAN XL thus extends the benefits of the CAN protocol to more demanding
applications, providing an intermediate step between signal-oriented CAN FD and service-oriented high-speed Ethernet networks.
Aimed at early adopters, the new CAN XL option for CAST’s CAN-CTRL IP core adds support for CiA’s 610-1 CAN XL data link
layer and physical signaling specification. It includes all the expected technical functions and features, plus any future updates

decision management technology recognized with the Credit Risk Technology Implementation of the Year Award from The Asian Banker.The award

the field of risk control.As of the end of June 2020, ICBC has issued more than 160 million credit cards and served more than 100 million customers,
maintaining its position as the world’s largest credit card issuing bank with the largest number of customers. The bank has over 8 million corporate
customers and 650 million consumer customers worldwide.One of ICBC’s stated aims is to build "China's No. 1 Credit Card Brand". After launching
FICO® Blaze Advisor® decision rules management system, the bank successfully applied the technology to multiple decision-making areas of the
credit card center and established a comprehensive intelligent risk control system.To deliver on the demand for agile deployment of decision
management across the business, ICBC Credit Card Center worked closely with FICO’s experts to establish a team to manage the rapid handling of
production problems. ICBC also adjusted the development process and innovated a set of efficient working models to promote rapid strategy

This investment will allow large-scale manufacturing of increasingly potent compounds for therapies that have the potential to treat cancer. Completion is expected by mid-2022 and should add approximately 50 full-time jobs starting in 2021.Merck’s new 6,500-square-meter commercial building in Madison, Wisconsin, USA will be one of the largest dedicated HPAPI manufacturing facilities specifically designed to handle single-digit nanogram occupational exposure limit materials. The project is an addition to the company’s campus in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, which was the first commercial ADC facility in North America and which specializes in ADC bio-conjugation, active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipient and adjuvants manufacturing. ADCs are an emerging class of medicines designed for high-specificity targeting and destruction of cancer cells, while preserving healthy cells. There are now only nine ADCs approved globally.
