When employers talk about problem-solving skills, they are often referring to the ability
to handle difficult or unexpected situations in the workplace as well as complex
business challenges.
Organizations rely on people who can assess both kinds of situations and calmly
identify solutions.
Problem-solving skills are traits that enable you to do that.
While problem-solving skills are valued by employers, they are also highly useful in
other areas of life like relationship building and day-to-day decision making.
Problem-solving skills are important in every career at every level. As a result, effective
problem solving may also require industry or job-specific technical skills.
3. Meaning of Problem solving
Problem solving skills refers to our ability to solve problems in an effective and
timely manner without any impediments.
It involves being able to identify and define the problem, generating alternative
solutions, evaluating and selecting the best alternative, and implementing the
selected solution. Obtaining a feedback and responding to it appropriately is an
essential aspect of problem solving skills too.
Problem-solving skills are a valuable and trusted asset in any team –these are
the people who think of new ideas, better ways of doing things, make it easier for
people to understand things or help save customers time and money.
