2. Concept/Idea
The basic idea of our animation is to form the word ‘CRY’ out of various
sporting equipment to appeal and link with the target audience of
Athletes.
We wont actually include characters in the animation, the location will
be based on a sports pitch to further strengthen that link with the target
audience.
The narrative of the animation starts with an empty shot of the field on
which we will be filming it, then as the animation goes on various
different sports balls e.g. tennis balls, shot-put, cricket balls, golf balls
etc will creep into the shot. From here they will will come together to
form the shape of a heart. We have done this because the charity is
about heart problems in the young. Moving on from this stage in the
animation we will again start to the move the sports balls, into the
shape of the letters C, R, AND Y to form the work ‘CRY’, this is when
the animation will end.
3. Purpose
The effect we want this animation to have on the target
audience is to compel them to donate more money money to
the charity and support them in any way they can. We will
achieve this by inputting statistics into the animation to show
how much the charity needs help, and how much heart
problems in the young is a serious problem.
The meaning that we trying to create is that the charity is need
of donations and support from the public.
4. Key Content
The length of the animation will be fairly short as we do not want it to drag and
bore the audience because we feel this will lower the effectiveness of it.

We do not have any characters in this animation.

5. Target Audience
Appeal: I think the appeal to the target audience of the charity
that this animation will have is the fact that we are going to
make it as sports orientated as we can, through the use of
sporting equipment, the location (Sports field) etc.
Genre: The genre of this animation will be ‘sport’
Age: The age of the target audience I think varies from the
people the charity is trying to help, which is the young people
doing sport, and the older generations that will have the money
that is going to get donated.
Gender:The gender of the target audience is male of female as
anyone can do sport, anyone could have a heart problem, and
anyone can donate money.
6. Justification
How will this idea be successful? - This idea will be successful
because we are making sure that we aim it at the right people, include
the right visual aspects, and the statistics that will help convince the
target audience to donate and support the charity.
Conventions - The conventions of the animation will include the
sporting equipment.
Audience Appeal - The audience appeal will be that we are including a
large sporting aspect in the animation therefore it will appeal to the
athletes that the charity help.
Creation - The way we will create this is by getting a DSLR
camera and putting it on a tripod, then we will slowly move the
sporting equipment into the shot whilst taking pictures as we go
then when we put it all together in ‘Final Cut’ it will look like an
animation.
