After nearly 20 years of
near constant
war, Napoleon
surrendered the throne in
1814 and was exiled to
Elba Island.
But in 1815, he got bored.
He went back to
France, took back over
and started the 100 Days.
This was a final attempt to
take over.

Napoleon’s armies engaged a coalition (team-up) of his
enemies at the Battle of Waterloo. Napoleon lost and was
sent to St. Helena, another island.
He died there in seclusion. Eventually, his body was sent
back to France, where he received an honored burial place.
