Distance Education Guidelines
         by jason guard
Program Description
Five regional trainings to instruct the staff of adult
education programs in administering and reporting
distance education.

• Goal of 30 participants each training.
• 3 hours long
• Ongoing social networking for facilitators of DE for
  debriefing, skill-sharing, and inspiration.
• Online version of training available within a year
• Eventual Part II after first year of implementation
  (informed by evaluation process)
Online Learning: The Big Picture

• A trickle of demand and publisher products
• Centralized support, localized resistance
• OAEL's Distance Education
  Recommendations of 2004
• eLearn Virginia for all eligible learners
• The US Dept. of Education's
  reporting guidelines
• Virginia's plan for distance education
Goal Statement

To assist Virginia's adult education programs
administer and collect reportable data on
distance learning services.

   ongoing mutual support via social media.
Budget and Marketing
• Expenses are minimal beyond salaried trainers, already
  on payroll.

• Attendance is ensured by incentives, accountability
  measures.
