IMCMEX 12 was the 1st NAVCENT sponsored multi-lateral maritime exercise with a focus in Mine Countermeasures (MCM) in the CENTCOM operations area. Exercise increased international awareness of MCM relevance, built multi-lateral relationships in the MCM mission area, and generated support for future international MCM exercises. 24 ships, 12 UUVs, and 116 MCM Divers 33 countries Tactical MCM Operations IMCMEX 13 will move a step further to incorporate additional participants, joint multinational serials, and equipment: 35 ships, 13 UUVs, 100+ MCM Divers 55 Countries/Organizations Tactical MCM Operations Maritime Infrastructure Protection (MIP) Maritime Infrastructure Protection Naval Coordination & Guidance for Shipping (NCAGS), Maritime Logistics Office (MARLO), United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) Mass Casualty response and evacuation in Mine Threat Area/Mine Danger Area Oil Spill Response Maritime Security Operations (MSO) Maritime Security Operations Escort of Merchant Vessels through Mine Swept Channel Coalition response to simultaneous threats to Freedom of Navigation and Sea Lane Accessibility
