Recommendation from taylor bongard
1. Recommendation
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Taylor Bongard, and I had the privilege and honor of working with Jason Wiese for three
months over the summer of 2011. We were working for an organization called YouthWorks who
specializes in summer mission trips for high school and middle school students. Jason was the site
director over the Marvell, Arkansas site and I was his supervisor as his area director. I spent about a
month of the summer with Jason on his site and spent the other months working along side him via phone
communication.
As a site director, Jason’s responsibilities included: managing 4 college-age staff, managing a $20,000
budget, overseeing programming for 100+ high school students for 10 weeks of mission trips, evaluating
and developing himself and his team, managing and leading 10-15 adult leaders each week, and many
more. The list goes on for what a site director does on a site. It is a very big role to take on, and I think
Jason did a fantastic job of filling in the needs of his role. He had a great big-picture perspective on what
the mission was and how he played a vital role in that mission. He was able to convey to his team why
they were there and what the heart was around the mission. Jason was incredible with the students and
adult leaders that came on the trips. He did a great job of keeping healthy, consistent communication with
the participants and went above and beyond leading his adult leaders, helping them to empower their
students. He remained calm and composed during times of conflict and worked hard to be there for his
team and the participants.
Some of Jason’s biggest strengths include: big-picture perspective on tasks/mission, driven values, loving
others, personal growth and development, communication, positivity, and consistency.
Jason was a complete joy to work with and I would be honored to get to spend more time with him in the
future. He has a very bright attitude and stature that makes you long for more time with him. He has a
very big heart for people and I know that whatever he does in the future, he will be a blessing to the
people around him.
