1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
2. I used Google and Trailer Addict to research the genre that we had chosen and what other trailers look like in the same genre. I also used these search engines to figure out the codes and conventions of the trailers in the genre we were planning to use. By using these I was able to find out what I was looking for by using Trailer Addict which was other trailers and research on what they included in the trailers.
3. I used the school websites blog system to create my blog to show the research and products online. By using this it allowed me to edit or change anything all ready on my blog. By adding more blogs to the subject makes it seem like a step by step of how I got to my final productions. By using the blog it allowed me to get feedback from anyone who went on my blog because it allows comments. This helped me improve my work. Also by using the blog allowed me to add different types of technology to present my text. For example slideshare and scroll boxes.
4. On the Macs I used the movie maker and the ITunes. However the ITunes didn’t work, as I tried to convert music from the iTunes into the movie maker. In the end I had to use a memory stick and apply that way. By using the movie maker I was able to put the shots that we used into an order and edit them down to make into a trailer. It also allowed me to add transactions to link the shots up, for example fade in and fade out. This allowed the trailer to become more professional because the shots would be linked together rather than flicking. Also the movie maker allowed me to add music and turn it down for certain shots that had dialogue in or a voiceover. The Mac also allowed us to add voiceovers by using the speaker that was built into the Mac.
5. The camera and tripod allowed me to film the shots for the trailer. By using the tripod it allowed me to take shots in different positions and also make it still rather that having it handheld and wobbling. The camera allowed me to use different modes even though I didn’t use them in the trailer. Also the camera also had enough space on the tape so we were able to keep reshooting shots that we didn’t feel that it wasn’t that great.
6. On the blogs I was able to make a recording; this allowed me to have different types of media on the blog. However it took some time because some of the headphones didn’t work. I also used different types of media like slideshare for example. This allowed me to upload PowerPoint’s to my blog. I found this easy to use because it was easy to embed it. However slideshare doesn’t allow you to have animations on the slides so it makes it a little boring. Also the website was a bit confusing on how to upload the PowerPoint onto the website but was easy to once I knew how too.
7. Photoshop allowed me to make my poster and magazine front cover. I used the text on Photoshop because it didn’t leave a white box behind it which I would have had to erase. I also used the erase tool to cut around the model on the magazine front cover. This allowed me to get rid of anything that I didn’t want in the background. I also used the paint bucket to allow me to fill in blank spaces. This allowed me to do a rainbow effect with the title.
