Good afternoon, bla bla bla....
It seems to me that every year another set of buzzwords emerge
at conferences like these. Last year it was stuff like “folksonomy”,
“tagging”, “delicious”, “flickr”.
“Mashups”, however, hadn’t “hit” yet. This year is a different
story.
So, I’m not going to dwell too much on the definition of mashups,
since previous sessions have already done that. Instead, I wanted
to talk a little bit about what the mashup philosophy means to
libraries, and what we should be thinking about in terms of
reacting to the mashup trend and preparing for what’s possibly
next.
