This document compares the performance and power consumption of Seagate 7200 RPM hard disks and Western Digital 5400 RPM hard disks. Testing showed the WD disks had up to 15% lower read IOPS but similar peak power consumption to the Seagate disks. However, the WD disks may have an advantage in daily power consumption if tested using SPECpower benchmarks. In summary, the WD disks showed slightly lower performance but potentially lower daily power usage.

3. Conclusion IOPS performance low than 15% when change the ST to WD a. No benefit on the peak power consumption 304(WD):305(ST) Don’t consider this method now.
