My career journey from a tenure-track veterinary faculty position to federal government policy wonk has enabled me to hone my skills as a leader, educator, innovator, collaborator, and overall cheerleader for the greater good. According to one of my colleagues, my own personal mission statement should be "To take the dark corner of an issue and make it sparkle." I consider every day a clean slate and an opportunity to expand my knowledge-base and connectedness with others.
