2. DESCRIPTIVE PARAGRAPH
A descriptive paragraph clearly describes a person,
place or thing. It lets you to imagine the way a
person felt, heard or saw the object or location at a
particular time regardless if the writer explains a
real or imagined circumstance. Additionally, a
descriptive paragraph gives readers a vivid image
of a person, place or thing. This type of paragraph
uses multiple sentences to convey a single clear
image of a person, place or thing.

3. ADVANTAGES
O Descriptive paragraphs show rather than tell, and use
details such as sensory details to help the reader
construct a "picture" of the scene.
O Explains the reality of how someone is feeling, an
animal or an object, clearly defining its characteristics
with coherence, consistency and accuracy.
O Claim to give the reader an accurate picture of reality
that is being broadcast in words.

4. Example:
The house where I lived for some years in Bogotá
was very small, only had one room and few
windows painted a light yellow, large fireplace
looked, but it was very dark and I decided to
change the color and I painted it silvery; I lived in
that house four years with my wife and daughter
and then we decided to travel and visiting other
places of Colombia; Three years ago that we no
return, but we miss its beautiful garden of daisies
and tranquility that offer its small living room.

5. Make sure to choose a meaningful person, place, or thing.
Introduce the person, place, or thing you are describing.
Engage your reader's sense of sight.
Describe smells and tastes if you can.
Describe how the moment or item feels.
Describe how your subject sounds.
Make unique observations.
Include some figurative language.
