Leading with a Humble HEART
Hear and understand me
     •   Seek first to understand; then be understood
     •   Listen, always be present
     •   Know your people; personality, family, etc.
     •   Empathize instead of Sympathize

Even if I am wrong; don’t tear me down
     • Stay on the issues; don’t destroy the person
     • Self esteem is so important for long term success
     • Seek intensity with emotional discipline
     • Commend – Criticize - Commend

Acknowledge my greatness
     •   Know their strengths and weaknesses
     •   Encourage but manage ambition
     •   Delegate important tasks
     •   Access to important people

Recognize my accomplishments
     • Provide immediate recognition
     • Small to large; size doesn’t matter
     • On the job or in the community
     • Use several methods; voice mail, written note, time off


Teach me new skills so I can do more
     •   Training expectations
     •   Develop accountability
     •   Always learn; have a mentor at every phase of life
     •   Tools to make the job easier, rewarding, and accomplishment more
