2. FOOD TIMES
-BREAKFAST:
In Spain breakfast normally depends on the time you go to work. But normally is
between 7:00 a.m and 10:00 a.m . Breakfast is very simple : coffee with some cookies ,
cereal or toasts.
Normally in the middle of the morning we eat something: a little sandwich or fruit.
-LUNCH:
Here our lunchtime is different because we eat a bit late between 14:00 p.m and
15:00 p.m and it is abundant: pasta, meat, rice, potatoes, tortilla and a lot of Spanish
products: ham, loin, …
Also we normally eat something in the middle of the afternoon: sandwiches, cereal …
-DINNER:
In Spain we have dinner very late , between 21:00 and 23:00. Dinner is very simple:
some salads, meat , sandwiches or fast food.
You can see that Spanish foodtimes are very different from the rest of Europe because
we normally eat later.

4. THE NAP (LA SIESTA)
• It is typical in Spain to sleep one or two hours after lunch. Normally we sleep on
the couch watching tv ( national channel documentary). The siesta comes from the
Roman time. There was one hour when the people stopped working to rest.
• It is showed scientifically that sleep after having lunch is a healthy habit.
5. THE HABIT OF LIVING ON THE STREET
• People in Spain are very sociable because we do a lot of activities outdoors like
sports, going to bars, going out with friends… . It is largely due to the very good
weather we normally have. Activities like going to bars is very typical because you
can meet with your friends to speak, to watch a football match etc while you drink
some refreshment or a sandwich, or the disco (that is more for the young people).
Also is very usual going out with your friends everyday in summer because the
weather is hot and the people feel like going out to a bar, a park, to walk the pet
etc

6. THE STARTERS (TAPAS)
• It is typical in Spain to go to bars before having lunch or while waiting for the
lunch if you are eating in a restaurant. We normally do this when it´s summer, at
weekends or on special days. The starters are some portions of typical Spanish
food : ham, sausages, tortilla, rice … accompained by some drink: coke, wine, beer
etc
