• Social habits- spent too much time hanging out with
friends
• Study habits- never spent much time studying
• Lack of motivation and discipline lead to many
excuses
4. Summary-during
• Context- my dad arranged for me to shadow a
heart surgeon to see if medicine was something I
like.
• Description- the surgeon took a blood vessel from
the patient’s knee and reattached it around a
blocked artery in the heart
• Aftermath- it was interesting to me how much the
human body could recover from, and I liked the
idea of changing someone’s life
5. Summary-after
• Differences- I do my homework
• New Motivations- Never let myself slack off and I use
my resources
• Lasting effects- the experience helped me mature
in a way I never expected to
