1st Tutorial on how to use Wimba for DePaul Quad Live Sessions

1. DePaul Quad Live Session Setup This presentation will walk you through the steps you will need to take to prepare your computer for the DePaul Quad Live Sessions. This is a one-time setup for your computer. If you use multiple computers to participate in Live Sessions, you will need to complete this setup on each computer.

2. DePaul Quad Live Session Setup Wimba Classroom Technology Wimba Classroom is an online distance-learning program . It is used by some DePaul faculty and staff to teach classes without the geographic limitations of a traditional classroom. It is also a great tool that allows us to present Live Sessions to DePaul Quad members. To participate in Live Sessions, you will need to prepare your computer to use Wimba Classroom by following these simple instructions.

3. STEP 1Go to http://depaullive.wimba.comMake sure your web browser’s pop-up blocker is turned OFF.

4. STEP 2 Select the orange “Participant Login” button.

5. STEP 3 Under the first section labeled “Participant Login”, enter your first and last name in the box that says “Name” and then select “Enter”. Disregard the section at the bottom. This is for presenters only. You will not need to enter your DePaul Quad username and password to participate in the Live Sessions.

6. STEP 4 You should see a screen that says “Is Your Computer Ready?” Select the orange “Run Wizard” button to setup your computer to use Wimba Classroom. * *Remember, it is only necessary to run this setup one time to prepare your computer for the Live Sessions. If you have already completed this setup on your computer, close this presentation and view the second tutorial entitled “How to Participate in a DePaul Quad Live Session”.

7. STEP 5 When the Setup Wizard loads, it will look like this. Remember your web browser’s pop-up blocker must be turned OFF. It is important that you can hear the Audio Playback. You will not need a microphone, but you will need speakersin order to hear the Live Session presentations.

8. STEP 6 Proceed through the wizard by following the on-screen prompts. When finished, you will see this screen letting you know you have completed the setup. Select the orange “Finished” button.

9. Setup Complete Your computer is now ready for a DePaul Quad Live Session. Remember, after running through the Setup Wizard successfully one time, you will never have to run the wizard again unless you are using a different computer.
