1. Grade 10 – Design a cake based on Frida Kahlo (her life, her looks,
her surroundings etc.)
You must draw/collage/photoshop all of the items you intend using on
the cake before you start making the cake. All items must be annotated
2. Your focus should be the toppers of
the cakes – not the sides of the
tiers. (I want to get the baking &
decoration of the sides done over
two days – if possible)

3. • Fondant & rice crispy treat
mixture
• Several toothpicks/kebab sticks
• A cutting board (the smoother
the better)
• A sharp non-serrated knife
• paintbrush (size 3/0 to 5/0)
• Water in a small container
• A surface to build upon, a piece
styrofoam/florist oasis (covered
in cling wrap)
• Plastic Containers to store
sculptures
• A sprinkle canister containing
either powdered sugar. If you do
not have a sprinkle canister you
can use a spoon to scatter the
sugar but it won’t be as evenly
distributed.
Fondant & all related equipment must
be at school by Tuesday 6th August
