3. The instructional goal for screencast programs is to engage the learners in an E-learning session. The screencast should allow the instruction to bring the subject to life and result in a positive learning outcome. The positive learning outcome can be measured through a satisfaction survey, as well as a quiz to assess how well the student learned. Goals
31. Camtasia is recommended as the primary screencast program for the following reasons: It is easy for teachers to create small modules to include in learning modules. It is easy to use with little training and can be uploaded to an Intranet, Internet site, or LMS system for easy student access. Quizzing can be integrated into the E-learning modules to hold learners accountable for their learning experience. The learner is engaged in the learning process with zooming and highlighting by involving the learner in the process demonstrated through screencasts. Record one time and use pausing feature during recording session to gather additional information or switch screens during the session. Camtasia
32. Jing is not recommended for the only screencast program because of the following reasons: Limitations for learners. The program works to capture screens and sound, but does not engage the learner. The recording has to be perfect because it cannot be edited, like Camtasia. The program does appear to slow down computer performance when it is running. Jing
33. Jing is recommend to use as an additional application for Camtasia for the following reasons: Push one button to take your screen captures over to Camtasia. Easier than using the Print Screen button on PCs and faster. Faster than using the record screen option in Camtasia and applying the zoom the feature within the software. Better screen resolution for screen capture, over record screen option when you want to zoom in a particular area on a document or picture. An alternative option for MACs, where the Print Screen button does not exist. Jing
34. My recommendation is to purchase Camtasia for $299 and to use the free version of Jing together to create engaging, fun visual presentations to: Create E-learning sessions. Include quizzes and surveys. Include in LMS systems. Upload to Intranets and Internet sites. Include a variety of images and video captures to include a variety of visuals to engage the learners in an interesting e-learning experience. My Recommendation
