The most important thing to note is that you should spend 20% of your time creating new content for your
blog and 80% promoting it. If people don’t see what your write—what’s the point? I decided to put
together a list of resources for you to use to do this.
I can’t possibly include all the resources out there for blog promotion. But the list below include services I
have used or that have a good reputation. You should still experiment a little to find the right combination
of services and build a promotion plan that works for your business. Some services listed below are 100%
free, others offer free trials then you have to pay.
SOCIAL SHARING
Publish your post to your social networks using relevant
hashtags.
Post of profile, fan page and in relevant groups
Consider using HootSuite or other social media
automation tool to schedule 3-4 messages to your pages
or relevant groups about your post
Tag people in your post that you mention in your blog

SOCIAL BOOKMARKING
Social bookmarking sites offer valuable link sharing
opportunities and can help your content (if it’s good) to go
viral online. Here is a good article on social bookmarking,

Link sharing websites abound! There are many options
For this. Basically you add you links and share others
posts through your social network. Some sites require a
monthly fee for this. Others offer free trials. Aside from

you can do to promote your content.

images and develop copy that is compelling in the ad.
Decide if you want to do a promoted posts for or
engagement and/or a new like campaign where you do a
linkshare to your post

Send an email to your list announcing your new post
Consider creating a customer email signature for your
email.I use http://www.mylivesignature.com/ a free
personal signature creator service and

a virtual business card type signature and also link in my
social media links and latest tweets
Consider doing a newsletter of your recent articles or do a
RSS feed update that go to your subscribers. You can
create a newsletter using your email program templates.

That’s it! Like I said, there is no way to include all the promotion options, but this checklist should keep
you busy! To make things easier, choose a specific day of the week to write your blog posts, then choose
2 other days and focus on promotion and start small, then incorporate other tactics once you feel
comfortable doing so.
