2. Diegetic sound
This scene is diegetic as it is the sound of cheering and
clapping coming from the crowd, the characters in the film
can hear this, as well as us being able to see and hear it.
3. Non diegetic
Volume control
In this scene the volume control is turned down, the
sound is soft and quiet, to emphasise the fact that
Katniss is so alarmed by the massive audience, that she
blanks out everything that the presenter is saying to her.
This demonstrates to the audience exactly how she is
feeling.
4. Diegetic sound
Foley
The sound katnisses dress flying up and twisting, is a
naturalistic sound effect created by Foley, whereby
they imitate this sound by using objects, or their voice.
This emphasises the sound to the audience.
5. Diegetic sound
Sound scape
This sound recording helps to place the sound of
the presenter's voice, as coming from a
distance, as he is standing quite far from
katniss, this adds a sense of reality and actuality to
the scene.
6. Diegetic sound
Ambient sound
In this scene, the crowd are making noise
(laughing, clapping) but this is out of the field of
vision, as we can not actually see the audience but
we know that the sound is coming from the
audience, this appears real and is therefore part of
the diegesis
7. Diegetic sound
Sound bridge
This is a sound bridge because as katniss is turning, you
can hear the presenter saying ‘Wow’ ‘Wow’ which
connects and continues the sound like a bridge. This is
part of the diegesis, and gives a feel of genuineness.
