product represent particular social

2. Before I made my product, I did research on the type of people that
listen to the genre of music my magazine is about and I did research on
the type of people that usually feature in them. I found out that it is
mainly men that are featured in these types of magazines because they
dominate this genre because of its aggressive style of music and their
rough looks. Most of the people that are featured look really rough and
often wear shirts, jeans and trainers. This type of outfit is very basic and
to conclude, it looks like they aim to look like they don't really care what
people think they look like and its mainly about the music, meaning their
rapport with the audience will be very strong because the music is for
them to listen to. When I was taking my pictures I tried to mimic this
persona by using the same style as what most magazines feature and
what I think the typical reader would look like, which is very basic
clothing, very rough looking and aggressive.

smiling and the way his hair
is and his beard makes him
look tough and slightly
aggressive, which is how I
imagine my audience would
look like.

I used a basic white shirt
that has a classic band that
is really famous because it
shows his love for music, like
the audience will have.
I used plain jeans because it
goes well with this outfit
and it is something plain
which also gives the
impression that he is
comfortable with how he
looks and doesn't care about
fancy clothes.
The model I used looks he
doesn’t care about how he
looks. His messy hair and his
hat hanging off his head
shows this.

5. The reason I chose the first style of image over the second for my main
images was because I think the model looked much more aggressive and
looked like he would be the kind of person that would feature or read the
magazine. This means it would be more relative to my genre and in
effect, would sell more copies.

6. For my magazine I have decided it will be aimed at an age group of 16-25 year
olds it will be aimed at men. This means it is targeted at young people that listen
to music he most and a lot of them will still be living at home but will still have
jobs, meaning they will have a lot more money to buy things such as magazines.
This also means, my magazine will be aimed at people that are in band D/E
because this is what most of my audience will be under. People I the D/E
category are often students or teenagers. The reason I chose this age range was
because a lot of the artists featured will have started at this age and some of the
readers may be able to take inspiration from them. I researched the cost of most
other music magazines, such as Kerrang and NME and I decided the cost of my
magazine should be about £3.50 because it will be published weekly and that
cost is very low, so teenagers and students that don't earn much will still be able
to buy it. In my magazine, I have featured a plug that will be giving away tickets
to Leeds festival 2014. This is because Leeds is the closest to the genre of m
magazine and it also offers a wide variety of music, even if they don’t
particularly like the festival. Also, with them being in a low band grade, this
could be an opportunity or them to go to a festival that they may not have the
chance to without the competition, being a once in a life time opportunity.

8. The lyrics some the bands that are featured in the pop-punk genre use
are often quite depressing but they are what a lot of people might have
gone through at some point. Making them relatable, and when they can
relate the listener often builds a connection with certain bands or songs.
Also, if the songs have deeper meanings, the music may be quite
aggressive. Majority of the artists featured are considered to be social
outcasts, like the readers probably are, and they often sing about how
they broke out of being outcasts or how they got over it, which could
help the reader, give advice to them, or just be there as something they
can relate to. But people that cannot relate to the music often see the
musicians as being depressing or boring.
