2. Johnathan Perkins is an associate at the law
firm Anapol Schwartz in Philadelphia. An
active community member committed to social
justice and advocacy, Mr. Perkins contributes
to the American Childhood Cancer
Organization and the
American Cancer Society (ACS).
3. The ACS offers many programs designed to
help promote an active, healthy lifestyle as a
way to reduce the risk of cancer and other
diseases. The organization implements its
Community Health Initiatives to provide access
to cancer prevention and treatment resources
including follow-up care, screenings, and
outreach.
4. The ACS initiatives known as Don’t Fry Day
and Slip, Slop, Slap, and Wrap encourage
sun-safe practices to prevent skin cancer.
ACS also works to discourage tobacco use
through programs like Quit for Life, a coaching
and support service, and the Great American
Smokeout, held each year in November.
