The 4-C'mon Quality Measures used for production and operations. As always a brief one which will give you an overview on about use of quality measures in production.
3. • They receive the order, the get
the raw materials, put their best
employees, get their maximum
productivity, no wastage in raw
materials thus efficient time
management, no blocking of
capital in the form of stock.
• What is needed when is needed
and how much is needed.

9. A signal board or card used
during lean & JIT process to let
know the workers involved in the
process about:
• What work is going on?
• What part of the on-going work
is remaining?
• What is the due date for the
same?
• Number of WIP order? Max.
Limit 4 orders

WHAT IS
KANBAN?
10. • Waste reduction
• Utilization of resources
• Helps to order inventories for
present and future.
• Reduce possible errors by
workers.
• Low cost strategy
HOW
KANBAN
HELPS?
11. Let’s imagine that you are working in a hypermarket and you
need to establish a Kanban system linking the displayed
merchandise on the shelves to the warehouse and then to
your supplier.
The person responsible for the pasta shelf, for example, will
place a red flag on the top of the shelf when the shelf needs to
be replenished. The person in the warehouse will recognize this
flag and will send some packs of pasta to be displayed. The
warehouse guy will need to update his warehouse data system
with the withdrawal amount. The system will compare the
remaining amount of pasta to the critical ordering point, which
is the point where an order has to be sent to the supplier. The
system will notice that the remaining amount is below the
critical ordering point and will send an automatic e-mail to the
supplier asking for another amount. This is a prime example
where an original, ordinary Kanban system is equipped with a
more electronic and automated one.
12. • It is not an pure quality
control measure.
• It rather helps the quality
control process to achieve
maximum which is why it’s
been classified under quality
measures.
• One of the best practice
measures used for a quality
control process.
THEREFORE….
15. • Improve quality of process
output by identifying and
removing the causes of defects
and errors, minimizing the
variability in manufacturing &
business process.
• Improve Quality = Increase Sale
• Cost Reduction = Increase Profit
• 99.9996% defect free
