7. THE GARDEN OF EDEN CHURCH MODEL
The Church’s relationship with Christ can be likened to The Garden of Eden in so many ways:
i. Just like the Garden of Eden was separated from the rest of the Earth, we are meant to be
separated from the world.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or
what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye
are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons
and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
8. THE GARDEN OF EDEN CHURCH MODEL
ii. Just as God gave man the privilege of naming all the animals in the Garden of Eden so also has
Christ given authority to His Church to call things whatever name they wish. This means that
challenges are challenges if we so choose to call them so. Circumstances becomes the name we give
them. Situations become the name we choose to give them. In essence whatever we tolerate on
earth becomes tolerated in heaven. Whatever we disallow or disavow on earth becomes disallowed
or disavowed in heaven. See the next slides.
9. THE GARDEN OF EDEN CHURCH MODEL
Genesis 2:19-20
19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and
brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living
creature, that was the name thereof.10 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air,
and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.11
Matthew 18:18-19
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever
ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree
on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in
heaven.
10. THE GARDEN OF EDEN CHURCH MODEL
iii. Just as Adam and Eve had everything they needed within the Garden of Eden so also the Church
has everything we need in Christ. There is nothing this world can offer us that we don’t already have
in Christ. There are 12 Basic Needs of Man and all of them are fully supplied in Christ. See the Next
Slide for all 12 Basic Needs of Man

12. Faith (Belief, Spirituality, Soul Connection)
John 3:14-17
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
the great love of God towards the world
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through him might be saved.
14. THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES CHURCH MODEL
The Tabernacle of Moses (also called The Mobile Temple of God) built in the wilderness was a
typology of the Church of Christ in the World. It represents Christ’s relationship with His Apostles or
Ministers, the People or Followers (the Congregation) and the rest of the world. The Tabernacle is
broken down into three (3) major parts:
i. The Outer Court (or The General Court)
ii. The Inner Court (or The Holy Place)
iii. The Innermost Court (or The Most Holy Place or The Holies of Holy)
15. THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES CHURCH MODEL
i. The Outer Court – This is where everyone comes to meet with God. This is a general place of
worship, outer cleansing and offering of sacrifices. It is a very crowded place because there are mixed
multitudes here. Here repentance and forgiveness of sins is obtained by the sacrifice on the Brazen
Altar (signifying the Cross) and the cleansing or washing of water in the Brazen Bowl or Brazen Basin
or Brazen Laver.
16. THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES CHURCH MODEL
ii. Inner Court – This is where we encounter the Person of Jesus Christ through His Word (The Shew
Bread) and the Light or illumination brought about by the Holy Spirit (The Menorah or the Seven
branched Lampstand). This place is also called the Holy Place because only the Priests (the saved and
redeemed) can enter here.
17. THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES CHURCH MODEL
iii. Innermost Court [Most Holy Place or Holies of Holies] – This is where we meet with Father of All
Creation having gone through the Holy Place (signifying the access granted to us by the Blood
Sacrifice of Jesus Christ). At this place we encounter God as The One who seats on the Throne of
Mercy (The Mercy Seat) whose Mercy triumphs over Judgment. Here our Spirit comes to the very
presence of the Father.

The Brazen Altar
The Shew Bread
The Golden Lampstand

19. THE RIVER OF GOD CHURCH MODEL
The River of God Model was extrapolated from the Book of Ezekiel [Ezekiel 47] where Ezekiel was
describing an experience in which he was wading through a river. The first level of the river was ankle
deep, then as he keep moving in the river, it reached his knees, then it was waist deep and then neck
deep before eventually submerging him.
The River of God Model is used to illustrate the levels of depth that exists in the relationship of the
Church with Christ. Just as a river has uneven terrain and varied depth all across the stretch of the
river so also there exist various levels of depth in Christ. As we press on into Christ we begin to
experience deeper encounters that will first tickle our fancy, then amaze us, then we are dazed
before been overwhelmed and totally raptured or submerged by the unlimited possibilities and
realities in Christ.
20. THE RIVER OF GOD CHURCH MODEL
Ezekiel 47:1-12
1 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for
the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the
altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh
eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. 3 And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured
a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.1 4 Again he measured a thousand, and brought me
through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. 5
Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not
be passed over.2
The virtue of them
6 And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. 7 Now when I had
returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.3 8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out
toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.4 9
And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great
multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.5 10 And it
shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall
be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many. 11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be
healed; they shall be given to salt.6 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose
leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they
issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
21. THE RIVER OF GOD CHURCH MODEL
Romans 11:33-34
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments,
and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
1 Corinthians 2:16
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.5
22. THE FISHERS OF MEN CHURCH MODEL
Christ called his first set of disciples Fishers of Men. He told his disciples that they were no longer
going to be in the business of catching fish but that they were going to be in the business of fishing
for men. This is where we get the Fishers of Men Model of The Church.
In the Fishers of Men Model, The Church represents an Industry into the Business of Catching Men
just as Fishermen hunt for fishes in the sea.
i. Fishing with hook is Personal Evangelism or One on One Evangelism –
Ii Fishing with net is Mass Evangelism or Crowd Evangelism –
Catching fish is very delicate business since we are not meant to kill the fish but to preserve it. We
are go into the world (the seas and oceans) and catch the fishes (men) and bring them into God’s
Private Aquarium (The Kingdom of God) where they are to be nurtured free from the pollutions
(pollutants and corruptions) of the world (the seas and oceans).
23. THE FISHERS OF MEN CHURCH MODEL
Jer 16:16
Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many
hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
Ezek 47:10
And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a
place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
Matt 4:18
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a
net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20
And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship
with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their
father, and followed him.
Mark 1:16
Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they
were fishers. 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. 18 And
straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. 19 And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw
James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. 20 And straightway
he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
24. THE FISHERS OF MEN CHURCH MODEL
Tools for Fishing Includes:
For Personal Evangelism – Hook, Line, Sinker and Bait and in some cases boat or canoe.
Hook – The Word that convicts the sinners to repent
Line – The conversations that creates a platform for the Word to be delivered to the sinner or soul.
Sinker – The preparation of the Soul Winner guarantees that the conversation is not started from the religious
plane so that it does not put off the listener before the sinner gets hooked by it. Part of the concealment strategy.
Bait – The attraction of the message or messenger. Something that gets the attention of the sinner to tune in to
the conversation. Whatever picks the interest of the listener.
Boat or Canoe – The Grace and the Power of God that keeps us afloat while we carry out the work of evangelism.
For Mass Evangelism – Spread Net, Dragnet or Trawler (launcher and retriever), Ship
Spread Net or Dragnet or Trawler – This is the method of evangelism that reaches out a very large number of
persons by way of electronic media online or onsite with a broad call to salvation. Usually because of the large
listenership, a sizable number of persons become saved. This is fast becoming the preferred means of evangelism
in our day and time because it is less privacy intrusive. However, it is capital intensive and the quality of souls is
less well discipled like the case of Personal Evangelism.
25. THE SOWER OF SEED CHURCH MODEL
This is one of the most popular of all the Models used to describe the Church and our relationship with Christ
with regards to the reception of His Word. There are four categories of this model and they are explained
below:
Luke 8:4-15
4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5 A sower went out to sow his
seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and
as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and
choked it. 8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that
hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the
mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now
the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out
of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these
have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have
heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are
they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
26. THE SOWER OF SEED CHURCH MODEL
i. The Seeds That Fell By The Way Side – Lying bare on the ground was trodden down and eaten up
by birds. They didn’t understand the word so the devil came and stole it from their head before it
enters their heart. v12
ii. The Seeds That Fell On Rocky Ground – Sprung up, after brief excitement withered away. Couldn’t
stand temptation because it lacked moisture and depth. v13
iii. The Seeds That Fell Amongst Thorns - Sprung up but was choked by thorns (cares, riches and
pleasures of this life). v14
iii. The Seeds That Fell On Good Ground - The Seeds sprang up and was fruitful because of a honest,
good heart, heard the word, kept it and bore fruit with patience. v15
27. THE SOWER OF SEED CHURCH MODEL
Luke 8:4-15
4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the
fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away,
because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8 And
other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he
cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10
And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that
seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the
word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of
their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the
word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And that
which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches
and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an
honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
28. THE VINE TREE CHURCH MODEL
John 15:1-8
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he
taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the
branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I
am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much
fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.1 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is
withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me,
and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my
Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
29. THE VINE TREE CHURCH MODEL
The Vine Tree represents Christ. The branches represents us the Church. We are connected to each
other. We cannot do without each other. The Husbandman or Vinedresser represents our Heavenly
Father. The Father comes to prune us so that we can bear more fruits. This is what Chastisement
does. Trials and Sufferings are not meant to hurt us but to brush off every fleshly excess in our lives
so that the nature of Christ can flow more readily into us with the ultimate goal of bearing more fruit
for the Master’s pleasure. The sweetness of the vine is guaranteed as long as we remain connected
to the Vine and as long as we support each other by bearing one another’s burden.
30. THE VINE TREE CHURCH MODEL
The Process of Growing a vine includes the following:
i. Seed sorting and selection
ii. Planting of the Vine seed
iii. Watering the Vine
iv. Weeding the Vine
v. Staking or Sticking the Vine
vi. Pruning the Vine (Removing and Discarding dead branches)
vii. Fruit Bearing
viii. Harvesting the Vine
ix. Crushing and Squeezing the Vine grapes
x. Filtering and Bottling
xi. Ready for to be served or Export or Shelf or storage (The older the wine the best the taste)
xii. Other processes may be involved depending on the type of wine you want to produce
31. THE VINEYARD CHURCH MODEL
There is another model of the Vine Tree in Scriptures which represents the Church of Christ or the
Kingdom of God in general. This is the Vineyard Church Model. Here Christ is seen as the Vineyard
owner who goes out to hire workers who will work in His vineyard. He agrees with them on a fair
price and sends them to go and work in the vineyard. At the end of the day, he comes to pay every
worker as he had agreed on.
This speaks of the fact that many are all called to work in the vineyard of Christ. At the end of the day
they will receive their reward from Christ. Those who refuse to work will not receive any reward.
Those who work hard will also be rewarded according to the Master’s agreement. Everybody will be
rewarded according as their labour shall be.
1 Corinthians 3:9-15
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
32. THE VINEYARD CHURCH MODEL
Matthew 20:1-16
1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to
hire labourers into his vineyard. 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into
his vineyard.1 3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 And said
unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. 5 Again
he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and
found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7 They say unto him, Because
no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye
receive. 8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give
them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh
hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received
more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the
goodman of the house, 12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us,
which have borne the burden and heat of the day.2 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no
wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last,
even as unto thee. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
33. THE GIFTS & TALENTS CHURCH MODEL
The Church represents a warehouse of all kinds of Gifts and Talents. The prosperity or effectiveness of the Church
is directly dependent on the number of gifts and talents in use and the proficiency of the users. The average
church is expected to be blessed with the core ministry gifts which we call The Five (5) Fold Ministry Gifts.
However, the reality on ground is that very few churches can boast of the supply of these gifts and talents in their
sufficiency. The reasons for this may include immaturity of most members, low spiritual state of the members or
the lack of sound teaching and practice of the word of God. Christ intentionally blessed the Church with all kinds
of Gifts and Talents so as to meet the needs of the members of the Body of Christ is every possible area of life.
There should be nothing that takes us out to the world to seek solution when all we need is in the Body of Christ.
This is why the Maturity and the Unity of the Body of Christ is part of Christ greatest concern.
Ephesians 4:11-12
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For
the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
34. THE GIFTS & TALENTS CHURCH MODEL
(Spiritual Abilities)
Romans 12:6-8
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy
according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he
that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.2 3
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the
same Lord.2 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To
another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of
miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the
interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally
as he will.
35. THE HUMAN BODY OF CHRIST CHURCH MODEL
(Members of One Body)
Romans 12:4-5
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being
many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
1 Corinthians 12:28-31
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles,
then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.6 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all
teachers? are all workers of miracles?7 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
36. THE HUMAN BODY OF CHRIST CHURCH MODEL
(Members of One Body)
The Human Body best illustrates the Body of Christ, the Church. Everyone of us have a unique role we
are play in the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ is blessed with all kinds of abilities. We need each
other to survive. As a matter of fact we cannot survive without each other.
Romans 12:4-5
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being
many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
37. THE HUMAN BODY OF CHRIST CHURCH MODEL
1 Corinthians 12:12-31
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by
one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into
one Spirit.3 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore
not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body
were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members every one of
them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members, yet but
one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
service
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23 And those members of the body, which we think
to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.4 24 For our
comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25 That
there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.5
and succour of the same body
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
so we should do for one another, to make up the mystical body of Christ
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps,
governments, diversities of tongues.6 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?7 30 Have all the gifts of
healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
38. THE GREAT HOUSE OF VESSELS CHURCH MODEL
2 Timothy 2:20-21
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to
honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
39. THE GREAT HOUSE OF VESSELS CHURCH MODEL
The Church is described as a Great House full of Vessels of different specifications. Our usefulness
depends on our degree of purity and the quality of material we are made of. There are:
Vessels of Gold
Vessels of Silver
Vessels of Bronze
Vessels of Wood
Vessels of Earth or Clay
40. THE LIVELY STONES CHURCH MODEL
The Church is described as a House built of Lively Stones or Living Stones with Christ as the Chief
Corner Stone or Most Important Stone sometimes called the Foundation Stone of the Building.
Other foundation can no man lay except that which has been laid by God which is Christ. Every piece
of stone has its unique shape and size because it is meant to be fitted into a preordained groove or
spot or niche in the Building of the Great House of God’s Kingdom. Every believer is unique in the
sight of God. We are meant to serve a special purpose in the Work or God here on Earth.
41. THE LIVELY [or LIVING] STONES CHURCH MODEL
1 Corinthians 3:9-15
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.3 10 According to the
grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth
thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
Christ the only foundation
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this
foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the
day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.4 14
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be
burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
42. THE LIVELY STONES CHURCH MODEL
1 Peter 2:4-8
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as
lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by
Jesus Christ.1 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect,
precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is
precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner,2 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the
word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
43. THE HOLY NATION OF ROYAL PRIESTS CHURCH MODEL
(A Nation of Priests & Kings)
The Church of Jesus Christ is here described as a Royal Nation of Priests with a mandate to express the
Praise and Glory of the King who is the Father of this Holy Nation. Under this Model, the Church is
expected to operate as royal priests on the Earth showing forth the praise of God to this fallen world.
44. THE HOLY NATION OF ROYAL PRIESTS CHURCH MODEL
(A Nation of Priests & Kings)
1 Peter 2:8-9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:3 4 10
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy,
but now have obtained mercy.
Rev.1:5-6
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince
of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And
hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and
ever. Amen.
45. THE STRANGERS & PILGRIMS CHURCH MODEL
(W Are Not of This World)
The Scriptures calls us Strangers and Pilgrims on the Earth. We are not to associate with the world to
the degree that will compromise our consciousness of our eternal homeland and celestial destiny. We
shall not become comfortable in this world and get used to their ways of doing things. We are to
remain heavenly conscious and earthly non-compliant. Just like the Rechabites of Jeremiah’s day.
Jeremiah 35:5-10
5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink
ye wine. 6 But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying,
Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever: 7 Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant
vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be
strangers. 8 Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us,
to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters; 9 Nor to build houses for us to dwell in:
neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: 10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according
to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
46. THE STRANGERS & PILGRIMS CHURCH MODEL
(W Are Not of This World)
1 Peter 2:11-12
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war
against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak
against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day
of visitation.5
I John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of
the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and
the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust
thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
47. SOLDIERS OF CHRIST CHURCH MODEL
(I Am In The Lord’s Amry)
Under this Model, the Church is described as Soldiers of Christ in the Heavenly Army. Just as there are
many divisions, departments and duties in the Army so there are many departments and
responsibilities in the Army of Christ. We have Captains, Generals, Lieutenants, Colonels, Sergeants etc.
Demolitions Team, Snipper Team, Marine, SEAL, Commandos, Green Berets, Army Rangers etc.
Every Soldier of Christ is expected to man his post and defend his territory for Christ. See the
Scriptures provided below.
48. SOLDIERS OF CHRIST CHURCH MODEL
(I Am In The Lord’s Amry)
Joel 2:1-11
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day
of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;1 2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the
morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more
after it, even to the years of many generations.2 3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as
the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. 4 The appearance
of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. 5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains
shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6 Before their
face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.3 7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall
like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: 8 Neither shall one thrust
another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.4 9 They shall run
to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a
thief. 10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall
withdraw their shining: 11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that
executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
49. SOLDIERS OF CHRIST CHURCH MODEL
(I Am In The Lord’s Amry)
2 Timothy 2:2-4
1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me
among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.1 3 Thou
therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the
affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier
Phillippians 2:25
25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and
fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
Philemon 1:1-2
1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, 2
And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
50. RUNNERS IN A RACE CHURCH MODEL
(The Marathon Race of Life)
Under this Model, the Church is likened to Runners in a race. We must run according to the rules of
the game, if not we will be disqualified. Just running and finishing the race is not good enough, you
must have ran according to the rules and principles of the race. See the following Scriptures
51. RUNNERS IN A RACE CHURCH MODEL
(The Marathon Race of Life)
2 Timothy 2:5
5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may
obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to
obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I,
not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by
any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
52. THE BRIDE OF CHRIST (MARRIAGE) CHURCH MODEL
(Betrothed, Espoused or Engaged To Jesus Christ)
We are described in Scripture as the Bride of Christ.
Our determination to stay pure and devoted to Jesus is our only chance of being eventually
married to Jesus
Revelations 21:9
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of
the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the
bride, the Lamb's wife.
53. THE BRIDE OF CHRIST (MARRIAGE) CHURCH MODEL
(Betrothed, Espoused or Engaged To Jesus Christ)
Matthew 25:1-12
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet
the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and
took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they
all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to
meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of
your oil; for our lamps are gone out.1 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and
you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom
came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also
the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
54. THE BRIDE OF CHRIST (MARRIAGE) CHURCH MODEL
(Betrothed, Espoused or Engaged To Jesus Christ)
Ephesians 5:22-32
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife,
even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject
unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
and husbands ought to love their wives
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might
sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious
church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought
men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his
own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his
flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his
wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
even as Christ does his church
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in
particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
