2. You have made a lovely cake for your friend on his birthday with
beautiful icing on it but the biggest problem arrives when you are ready
and you have to shift the cake. To solve this problem we will help you in
making the box that will keep you cake safe and won’t ruin the icing.
To make the box you will need 2 large cardboard boxes, strong tape,
scissors, glue, ruler, marker and dry ice.
3. Step 1 - Seal the top of the cardboard box with tape and then
fold to seal the other side too.
4. Step 2 - Measure 3 inches from the edge and make a small
indicating line and draw a straight line along with it using a ruler.
5. Step 3 - Repeat this step for all the 4 sides making a separate section of
the box which you need to cut using a blade. Cut along the lines.
6. Step 4 - The section will form the base of the box. When I started
it was difficult for me to find an appropriate box but then I came
across a website where I found the right box, www.dcgpac.com
7. Step 5 - Cut pieces from the other box and make sure that they
fit inside properly as shown in the image below.
8. Step 6 - Allow a 2 inch lip and using glue attach the piece with
the box. Unfold the piece and attach the adjacent part to the
adjacent side of the box. Repeat this for the opposite side.
9. Step 7 - Now for the cake you need to stick tape to the base to
keep the cake secure.
10. Step 8 - Keep dry ice near the cake on the base to keep the
cake chilled. It would be better if you keep the dry ice in all four
corners of the base.
12. Step 10 - If you have a sticker of “this side up” then it is great, you
can stick it on the box or you can even use a marker and write
“this side up” on the box.
