2. Camerawork
• Blank screen: with no visuals we are
forced to listen to the creepy and scary
music. By feeling forced we are scared and
tense.
• Zoom: By zooming into the woman's face
we get an indication of sudden realisation.
• The shot is taken looking through the
woman's wine shelves. Suggesting that
she is being watched. Creating mystery.
3. Sound
• Hyperbolic: In the score throughout the credits a
huge noise from a violin is played when the title
of the film appears. Giving us a jump scare
Indicating to us that the film is dark.
• Score: the creepy and eerie score creates a tense
and uncomfortable atmosphere.
• Ambient sound: this creates a sense of realism,
we feel like we are in the scene, creating fear.
4. Mise En Scene
• Props: The use of wines like foreshadowing that
something bad is going to happen.
• Purple dress: Purple has conventions of royalty and
power. We ae in he presence of someone that looks they
like they should have a lot of power, but has a l9t of fear.
5. Editing
• Fade: the fade between the tiles has
a sense of mystery and creepiness
making the atmosphere
uncomfortable.
• Long takes: The scene is slow and we
just sit in tension waiting for
something to happen..
