When you join you create a professional profile.
This profile allows you to find and be found by
colleagues, clients, potential candidates, and
partners.

trusted contacts to link to you, then in turn you are
linked to their networks.

the people you know. They have invited you or you have
invited them to connect directly.
• 2nd Degree/2nd Level Connections – These are friends of
your friends. You may not know them but have easy access
to them through your first level connections.
• 3rd Degree/3rd Level Connections – Typically, you do not
know this group although it will be your largest group of
connections.

12. Search Tips
Utilize more generic title keywords than skills
keywords
Use Booleans (AND’s, OR’s, -’s)
Search using specific company names
Use filters for
– Geographic locations
– Industries
– Interested in “career opportunities”
– Searching within your groups
– People who joined recently
