LESSON PLAN 8: SPORTS test
NAME: Schiel, Juan Pedro
DATE: Friday, September 30th
5to
C from 10:45 to 11:30,
and 5to A from 11.30 to 12:15
CLASS: Fifth Grade A-C
LENGTH OF THE LESSON: 40 MINUTES
CLASS DESCRIPTION: There are twenty-three students in this group, all of them are between
ten and eleven years old. They have English classes twice a week, each class lasts forty
minutes. This group of students works at its pace, which is rather slowly. Their proficiency level
is A1.
SKILLS TO BE EMPHASIZED: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
LANGUAGE:
Vocabulary: Sports and sports equipment
Grammatical structures: there is/are, simple present
AIMS:
The main aim of this lesson is to assess how much the students have learned on the topic of
sports taught during a month and a half.
MATERIALS:
- whiteboard
- markers
- flashcards
- photocopies

Anticipated problems: Some students could have problems in the understanding of some new
structures presented-
Possible solutions: We will provide them the necessary help in order to overcome that
problem using visual aids, gestures and making a wise use of L1 and L2.
Procedures

date, birthdays, holidays, and
we are going to choose an
assistant.

Sports Crossword
Ss will do a crossword which
includes a mixture of all the
lexis we have been working
with.
T-Ss 10 minutes
Classification
Ss will have to classify a
number of sports into
individual sports and team
sports.
5 minutes
Guess the sport
Ss will have to read a brief
description on a sport and then
they will have to guess the sport
being described.
10 minutes
Reading/writing
Ss will have to retrieve all the
contents they have been
studying so far in order to write
a short text.
10 minutes

Schiel Yicarean, Juan Pedro-Practice II 1 LESSON PLAN 8: SPORTS test NAME: Schiel, Juan Pedro DATE: Friday, September 30th 5to C from 10:45 to 11:30, and 5to A from 11.30 to 12:15 CLASS: Fifth Grade A-C LENGTH OF THE LESSON: 40 MINUTES CLASS DESCRIPTION: There are twenty-three students in this group, all of them are between ten and eleven years old. They have English classes twice a week, each class lasts forty minutes. This group of students works at its pace, which is rather slowly. Their proficiency level is A1. SKILLS TO BE EMPHASIZED: Listening, speaking, reading and writing. LANGUAGE: Vocabulary: Sports and sports equipment Grammatical structures: there is/are, simple present AIMS: The main aim of this lesson is to assess how much the students have learned on the topic of sports taught during a month and a half. MATERIALS: - whiteboard - markers - flashcards - photocopies

We are going to ask them for the date, birthdays, holidays, and we are going to choose an assistant. T –Ss 5 minutes Sports Crossword Ss will do a crossword which includes a mixture of all the lexis we have been working with. T-Ss 10 minutes Classification Ss will have to classify a number of sports into individual sports and team sports. 5 minutes Guess the sport Ss will have to read a brief description on a sport and then they will have to guess the sport being described. 10 minutes Reading/writing Ss will have to retrieve all the contents they have been studying so far in order to write a short text. 10 minutes
