 The Future Perfect tense is quite an easy
tense to understand and use. The Future
Perfect talks about the "past in the future".
 It expresses the idea that something will
occur before another action in future.
 It can also show that something will happen
before a specific time in future.
The structure of the Future Perfect tense is:
 The first auxiliary verb (will) is invariable: will
 The second auxiliary verb (have) is invariable in base
form: have
 The main verb is invariable in past participle form: -
ed (or irregular)
 For negative sentences we insert not after the first
auxiliary verb.
 For question sentences, we exchange the subject
and the first auxiliary verb.
subject + Auxillary will + Auxillary have + Main verb
will have Past participle
By six pm tonight:
 I will have finished this book
 You will have studied the English tenses
 She will have cooked dinner
 He will have arrived
 We will have met Julie
 It will have stopped raining
 They will have left Japan
By next week,
 I will not have finished this book
 You will not have studied the English tenses
 She will not have cooked dinner
 He will not have arrived
 We will not have met Julie
 It will not have stopped raining
 They will not have left Japan
'Yes / no' questions:
 will I have finished writing this book?
 will you have studied all the English verb
tenses?
 will she have graduated?
 will he have got married?
 will it have got colder?
 will they have left their jobs?
'Wh' questions:
 When will I have finished writing this book?
 Why will you have studied all the English
verb tenses by tomorrow?
 When will she have been here three weeks?
 Why will it have got colder by May?

  • 2.  The Future Perfect tense is quite an easy tense to understand and use. The Future Perfect talks about the "past in the future".  It expresses the idea that something will occur before another action in future.  It can also show that something will happen before a specific time in future.
