- Thanks for the introduction. I’m very re-assured by the size and corporate coverage of the audience here today. Recognising the need for agile, or perhaps more importantly being prepared to listen to what is has to offer gives me faith in the future of enterprise software development. I will try and leave sufficient time at the end for questions.So lets get straight into it.
- First off, I’d like to make 3 points that I hope you remember well beyond this presentation itself. They are:Agile is for everyone; small, large, or somewhere in between, I’m yet to discover a project that would benefit from utilising its values and principles in some way.There are no excuses – there are however challenges, and,Challenge, like change is normal and should be embraced.I’m about to take you through a broad set of challenges, but let me state that whilst these challenges are not necessarily limited to large organisations, they can be taken to a new art form by size. Most challenges themselves are also not limited to agile, and projects following traditional waterfall SDLC’s need to overcome them as well – however agile just has a habit of surfacing them earlier. Some of these challenges you will have heard earlier in the day, some you wont, but I believe their all worth re-emphasising.
