One out of nine children under 18 are forced to work in terrible conditions. Child labor exists because parents tell their children things like "It's nonsense going to school" or "Girls are supposed to help with housework." Many cheap clothes and products are made by underpaid child laborers in poor countries. There are over 250,000 child soldiers used cheaply and to protect adult soldiers. One out of seven children worldwide face physical or mental abuse. In the US, 20% of children are obese due to excessive screen time and fast food instead of physical activity.
2. One out of nine children under the
age of 18 are forced to work under
terrible work conditions.
“It’s nonsense going to school”
“Girls are supposed to help with the
housework”
This is how the children are being
told by their own parents– and the
reason child labor exists is
because of me and you.
3. WE HAVE MANY THINGS SURROUNDING US
TODAY– CLOTHES, FOOD, THINGS WE NEED
FOR DAILY LIFE
These camisoles are sold from
$1.80
The jeans are $9.99
We love these products, right?
It is easy to throw away when you
feel like not wearing them
anymore, or if you outgrow them.
But how come they are so cheap?
4.
5. It’s because the children from poor countries are
making these product with just a little bit of money–
they don’t even receive the minimum wage.
Child labor will not end unless
you stop buying these cheap
things.
7. IT IS SAID THAT HE IS ABOUT THE AGE 10
• It is said that there are more than 250000 child soldiers
around the world
And they are often used to protect the soldiers over the age of
25– because child soldiers are easy and cheap to supply from
developing countries.
8. THERE ARE CHILDREN BEING SOLD
THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. ONE GIRL IN
CHINA WAS ON SALE FOR $400
9. One out of seven children are being
abused either physically or mentally
throughout the world
10. Our kids are fat and getting fatter.
Recent numbers show that 20% of
American children are obese. Not
chubby –OBESE! Video games, TV,
the internet and fast food are partly
to blame. Kids are spending more
time sitting in front of a
TV/computer screen than running
around outside. This sedentary
lifestyle has consequences.
This is an issue we have in the
United States
