1. Molestation charges against four Accenture employee
GURGAON: The labour officer in Gurgaon has initiated a probe into the complaint filed by a former
employee of Accenture on Tuesday.
That women is 27 years old and former employee of Accenture in Gurgaon, she alleged she was
sexually harassed by senior colleagues of the software and consultancy major, has now decided to
petition National Commission for Women (NCW) to intervene on her behalf. She claims she was
sacked on September 5.
She has lodged a complaint with Udyog Vihar police in Gurgaon and named four employees in her
November 5 FIR. Among those named are her team leader and HR manager. She said she had
joined the company in March this year. "My team leader used to touch me, which was alarming for
me. He also made lewd comments in office. The four knew I wanted the job badly and wanted to
exploit my situation," she alleged.
She claims she was asked to leave in August and was handed a termination letter on September 5.
"I was terminated because I had raised my voice against the harassment and it is traumatic for me.
No one listened or acted on my complaints. Before being terminated I had undergone 25
assessments by my team members, who only gave me negative ratings," she alleged.
"The only reason I registered the FIR was... (because of)... my dignity and honour. There should be
more stringent rules to make sure that job-seeking girls are not exploited," she said.
The local police have called her on November 12 to join the probe. "I have drafted a complaint to
be given to NCW and seek justice," she said.
Inspector Rajinder Singh of Udyog Vihar said: "The employees have been told to join the
investigation, but they did not turn up. I have informed my seniors and the next course of action
has been decided."
Singh added that the company had shared details of the email exchanged between the victim and
senior colleagues during her tenure. The police have provided legal assistance to the victim as per
rules.
Another senior officer said: "The woman has alleged harassment in the office and then she was
sacked citing poor assessment. Those named in the FIR are the ones who carried out her
assessments."
An Accenture spokesperson said, "We cannot share the specifics of the case as it is under
investigation. These are indeed serious allegations and we are cooperating with the authorities and
accessible for their enquiries."
The spokesperson added, "We will like to reiterate that Accenture is a company with strong core
values and we do not tolerate illegal or unethical behaviour. When our people do not comply with
our policies, our code of business ethics or the law we take appropriate action."

2. Probe begins into Accenture ex-staff’s complaint

Last week, Suresh Yadav, the labour officer, Udyog Vihar, had issued a notice to the management
of company and sought a response to the complaint of the woman, Shilpa (name changed). The
representatives of the company, including a manager, an advisor and a woman lawyer, had come
to the labour office in connection with the complaint.
Yadav said: "The company will file a detailed response to the complaint and bring the official
records relating to the wages irregularities as alleged by her." He also said that the four employees
named in the FIR were not present . In the labour office the complainant has demanded her legal
wages and reinstatement in the company.
The woman had registered an FIR against the four employees of the company alleging
molestation. "After registration of the FIR the local police were told that the legal department of the
company would handle the case and in the labour office today the representative wants the
company out of the complaint," said the woman.
Accenture staff seek advance bail

Now accenture staff seeking advance bail The four employees of Accenture accused of molesting
a former woman colleague have submitted anticipatory bail applications in a city court. The woman
employee, Shilpa (name changed), had registered an FIR under Section 354 (molestation) and
had named four employees including her team leader.
A senior police officer probing the case said: "The suspects have moved an anticipatory bail
application in Gurgaon court which will be taken up on Friday." The victim had registered an FIR at
Udyog Vihar police station and also filed a complaint in the labour office.
Reacting to the development, the victim said: "I am aghast at the company not taking any action
against the four named in the FIR and police have not arrested them. I am now pinning my hopes
on the court, where I hope to get justice." She said local police had informed her that the suspects
were planning to move bail plea.
The woman had joined the company in March 2013 and her alleged harassment started in the
office.
In a statement, an Accenture spokesperson said, "We are cooperating with the authorities and
monitoring the situation. When our people do not comply with our policies, our code of business
ethics or the law, we take appropriate action. As there is an ongoing investigation into this matter,
we cannot discuss it any further."
Anticipatory bail for four Accenture staff

The four victims have got bail . A city court has granted anticipatory bail to the four Accenture
employees accused of molesting a former colleague.
Additional district and sessions judge Alka Malik heard the arguments of all the accused and the

3. public prosecutor and granted anticipatory bail to the suspects on Friday. A senior police officer
said: "The anticipatory bail to the suspects has been granted with the instruction to join the police
investigation. If the suspects continue to dodge the police investigation, we will move an
application to cancel the anticipatory bail “.
