Shrinkage Control:
Inventory shrinkage control is
an collaborative effort, all the
staff needs to be attentive and
support the control measures
Shrinkage types:
Administrative mistakes – in warding
& Out warding issues, wrong tagging,
other clerical problems and
mismatches.
Customer pilferages – Customer
intentional theft incidents, Customer
damages
Employee theft & malpractices
Shrinkage Control:
 Every single pc to be scanned and in warded as per the process
of Every single TFS.
 Say NO to bulk receiving.
 Check every single pc is been in warded with out any error –
don’t just match the count in the bag alone.
 All excess stocks received or received short to be established
immediately and resolved through our defined process.
 Same error free process to be followed with outward to
Warehouse or store –to-store.
 One more area where we will find lot of stocks under shrinkage
is wrong scanning/left over stocks with out scanning/ without
barcode stocks, wrong updates, ….. Stock movement errors
 Most of the clerical mistakes happens during estimation,
packing and delivery of stocks.
 Mis matches during Returns ( credit notes), violation of process
in handing over of RT stocks to floors….
Shrinkage Control : Store Touchpoints
Entry security
 Greet every single customer and politely communicate them to keep their
helmets/baggage's if any in the baggage token counter.
 Open bags , large handbags and laptop bags needs to be zip locked with an tag
 Security frisking as per process ( if compulsory)
 Check daily the functioning of security antenna’s
 Any exceptions noticed to be informed to store manager or DM’s immediately
CRM -Receiving
 Greet every customer and guide them to respective section based on
customer’s requirement
 Customers with suspicious behaviour, large dress/gown ….. Indifferent
dressing needs to be brought to the store manager/DM’s attention asap
 Ensure customers are been given matching slip’s/ Exchange customers are been
Guided properly to the customer service desk
Shrinkage Control : staff theft
 Any incident / information on staff theft need to
Be immediately informed store manger/DM
/ Area manager or Management
 Zero tolerance for staff theft incidents
