This is a presentation on a homoeopathic drug which is a sterilized and potentized product of one of those deadly acute diseases which Dr. swan recognized as basic to all chronic disease.
3. INTRODUCTION
Medorrhinum is a nosode. It represents the heart of the sycotic miasm. The main feeling of the sycotic miasm is :
“I am OK as long as my weakness is covered up. I know my weakness is not fatal to me, it is not the end. But if it
Is exposed, I will be criticized, I will lose a lot, people will take advantage of me and my position will come down.
Therefore, I must do all I can to see that this weakness is not exposed. I may have to be overactive in the opposite
Direction as a result.”
The fear of being exposed in medorrhinum is seen in its fears and anxieties. The person is clairvoyant and fears
misfortune, always anticipating that something will happen. He has the presentiment of it, an internal feeling, an
Inexplicable sensation inside. He prophesizes disagreeable events. He tends to be absorbed in his own thoughts and
become absent minded. Therefore we find under medorrhinum the symptom : “ loses the thread of conversation”.
Also in this state of intellect, this dreamy state, he finds that the things that he is familiar with look unfamiliar.
Sometimes because of overactivity of his mind, his thoughts run into each other so fast that each minute seems
Like an hour and time passes to slowly.
4. The feeling of incapacity in medorrhinum is represented by anxiety of conscience as if he were guilty of a crime,
By fear as if someone was behind him, and a constant inner anxiety and restlessness. The latter is manifest in the
physical sphere by signs such as restlessness of feet and constant biting of nails, while the guilt feeling is
Evident in his need to constantly was his hands.
On the other hand, in order to cover up his inner weakness, the medorrhinum patient can take the opposite
Stance, in that he can become quite egoistic, critical, rude, selfish, insensitive, extravagant and can act as if
nothing really scares, bothers or affect him. He may speak abruptly and gives very little away. Internally he may
be fearful of dark, of ghosts, anxious when a time is set, and may be very hurried and impatient. Medorrhinum
Persons also have a very fixed way of doing things.
I often see the situation of medorrhinum as that of a young prince whose father, the King, is about to die. The
prince is weak and not yet ready to face the responsibilities that lie ahead. He is surrounded by uncles and
ministers who are ready to take advantage of his weakness and usurp the throne. In order to survive, the young
prince has to put a very bold Egoistic, rude and aggressive front, and not let his inner powerlessness be exposed.
The situation would also help us understand the unwillingness of medorrhinum to take up the responsibilities &
his non committal stance; he feels that if he commits and is then unable to fulfil that commitment, his weakness
will be exposed.

6. PREPARATION
STOCK
The stock is obtained from purulent urethral secretion taken during the period of discharge from several patients,
Otherwise healthy and have not yet been treated by antibiotics or sulfanilamide.
This secretion is examined under microscope.
(a) Cytological examination showing very numerous polynuclear and epithelial cells.
(b) Examination according to gram, putting in evidence the presence of Neisseria Gonorrhoea, as well as epithelial cells .
This examination proves the complexity of the stock of Medorrhinum which is not like Gonotoxinum which is a simple
Culture of Gonococcus but well at the same time a complex bringing the germs in the media of reactional morbid
Elements.
The material taken is then homogenized, diluted and lysated.
The biotherapic Medorrhinum is prepared from a lysate obtained without the addition of antiseptic, from purulent
Urethral secretion of blenorrhagia of several patients during free discharge.
7. TECHNIQUE OF PREPARATION
1. Reception of the collection
The collections are sent in sealed capillary tubes. They are subjected to different controls.
(a) Cytological examination : the examination between lamella shows very numerous weakened poynuclear and
some epithelial cells.
(b) Examination after coloring by gram method : puts in evidence some Gram negative diplococcus, intra and extra-
cellular, and some very numerous, very weakened polynuclear and some epithelial cells. These characters added
to the clinical examination help to classify the germs as Neisseri Gonorrhoeae.
2. Dilution of serosities
The serosities are diluted in 100 times of their volume of sterile distilled water.
3. Lysis of the cells and of the microbian matters
The initial dilution of 1/100 is congealed in 200, then decongealed in ordinary temperature four times successively.
4. Sterilisation and Distribution of the initial dilution
The lysate obtained previously is sterilized by filtration on EKS filters and divided in fractions of 10ml in sterile phials.
8. 5. Stocking of the Initial Dilution
the fractions of 10ml of the initial dilutions are lyophylised so as to be able to be preserved without
modification. Each phial contains a quantity of lyophilized product by the technique of preparation
and by its tests of control.
6. Dilution
the contents of each phial is taken up again in 10 ml of distilled water so as to bring the concentration
of the final product to 0,001 per millimeter of urethral secretion.
Filtration and Distribution of the Final Dilution
The final dilution is filtered on E.K.S. filter, then aseptically distributed in 1 cm3 ampouls.
8. Control
(a) Sterility : Inoculation on bouillon or better on gelose should not be followed by any culture.
(b) Non-toxicity : by subcutaneous injection of 1 ml to rats, weighing 20 g each, no accident happens.
the rabbit should bear without damage the injection of 15 ml of the product.

9. GENERAL SYMPTOMATOLOGY
● A remedy of chronic stage ; it will be indicated in the general morbid condition known as chronic reticulo-
endotheliosis (H. Bernard) or chronic Mesenchymatosis (H. Bernard) or Connectivosis (Julian) and what is
more classic in homoeopathy the sycosis of Hahnemann.
● It is the consequence of metabolic and toxic metabolism with hydric retention by catabolic slowness.
it is the hydrogenoid constitution of Grouvogl with cortico-visceral inhibition more or less intense or differential.
sensitivity to barometric modification or hygrometric modification ; better by seaside after a bath.
● In paediatrics, the following characteristics are found : child anaemic, polyadenopathic, big head, face often in sweats
and frequent catarrh of the respiratory tract.
the babies have red buttocks, irritation around anus and this may be found in children's, adults or in old persons.
● Pathognomic characteristic : The patient whatever , may be his age, likes to lie down in knee-elbow position, on
his belly, buttocks in the air, face pushed into pillow.
When this key symptom is absent the medicine may be prescribed but when present it is very valuable.
