Introduction Latin America
• Latin America has 17 countries.
• Colonized by Spain & Portugal (Iberian countries).
• 490 million people total population.
• 75% of the people live in cities Several megacities (more than
  10 million people).
• Industrialization & development grew since 1960s.
• Latin America specialized in commodities like Bananas,
  coffee, cacao, grains, tin, rubber, petroleum, etc.
• Main mining silver, zinc, copper, iron ore, bauxite, gold, oil,
  gas,etc.

Introduction India
• India officially republic of India, is a country in South East Asia.
• It is the seventh largest country by geographical area,and the
  most populous democracy in the world.
• India had 1,068,600,000 people in 2003 (17% of the world
  total), the world's second largest country in population after
  China.
• Industrialization and Development grew since 1990s.
• India is the second largest producer of grains.
• India has the largest deposit of high-grade iron ore in the
  world.
• India produces 3.8 percent of the world's coal
Latin America’s Culture
• Languages:-
  Spanish and Portuguese are the predominant language.

• Religion:-
  The primary religion throughout Latin America is Christianity
  and most of them are roman Catholics.

• Dance:-
   Vibrant Dance and music like salsa, merengue and bachata.

• Tourist spots:-Rio-de-Jinareo, La Paz (Bolivia),etc.

India’s Culture
• Languages:-
  There are 18 different languages spoken officially in India which
  includes Hindi and English as a National Language.

• Religion:-
  India is the Country which is multi-ethnic and multi-religious
  however mainly Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christians are followed.

• Dance:- Kathakalli, Bharatnatyam, Bhangra, etc.

• Tourist spots:- Taj Mahal, Red Fort(Delhi), Sanchi Stupa, etc.
Latin America’s Geography
 •     Latin America is surrounded by Atlantic ocean in the east, pacific
      ocean on the west and Caribbean sea in the north.
 •    Countries(21) which included Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia,
      Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Ecuador, Costa
      Rica, Cuba etc.
 •    Latin America occupies half of all the Americas territory, and it includes
      all the climates you can ever think of. A grossly general distribution of
      climates would be as follows:-
 1.        Northern Mexico: Desert
 2.        Southern Mexico, Central America, Northern Colombia and
           Venezuela: Tropical
 3.        Most of Brazil: Tropical
 4.        All Central-Western South America: Mountain climates
 5.        Central South America: Grassland
 6.        Southern South-America: Tundra
India's Geography
• India is located between 8 N and 37 N. The Tropic of
  Cancer passes through northern India.
• India is bounded to the southwest by Arabian sea, to the south
  east by Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean to the south.
• India share its boundary with Pakistan, Nepal, China,
  Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Sri-Lanka, Myanmar.
• India is divided into 28 states and 7 union territories.
• India is divided into various physiographic regions which
  includes mountains, plateaus, desert, islands and coastal
  region.
• The monsoon(the seasonal reversal of wind systems) is the
  dominant climate force with summer and winter.
The political system
• For the past fifty years, Latin America has been overwhelmed
  by the power of military dictatorships which deeply affected
  society as a whole. Few Latin American countries escaped
  military rule.

• The power of the military dictatorships rested on the doctrine
  of National Security, whereby the armed forces were awarded
  the role of political guardians.

• Politics of India take place in a framework of a federal
  parliamentary multi-party representative democratic republic.
BRIC
• In economics, BRIC (typically rendered as
  "the BRICs" or "the BRIC countries" or known
  as the "Big Four") is a grouping acronym that
  refers to the related countries of Brazil,
  Russia, India, and China

• Emerging Nations-encompass over 25% of
  the world's land coverage and 40% of the
  world's population and hold a combined GDP
  (PPP) of 15.435 trillion dollars.

• Goldman Sachs predicts China and India-
  dominant global suppliers of manufactured
  goods and services while Brazil and Russia
  dominant as suppliers of raw materials
India relations with Latin America

                Indo-Brazil Relation
• The primary export commodities from Brazil include
  transportation equipment, iron ore, soybeans, footwear
  and coffee.
• The primary export commodities to Brazil include
  machinery, chemicals, oil, automotive equipments and
  parts, and electronics
• Both countries want the participation of developing
  countries in the UNSC permanent membership
Indo-Mexico Relations

• Trade between India and Mexico amounted to US$1.6 billion
  in 2006-2007, compared with only US$251 million in 1990-
  1991.
• Mexican exports to India: mainly Crude
• Indian Exports to Mexico: pharmaceuticals; gems & jewellery
  power sector equipment and auto parts.
• The Major difficulty behind the promotion of trade between
  the two nations is geographical distance, lack of direct
  shipping facilities, expensive credit, language barrier.
Indo-Argentina Relations
• Formal relations between both the countries were first established
  in 1949.
• India has an embassy in Buenos Aires and Argentina has an
  embassy in New Delhi.


                  Indo-Canada Relations

• Indo-Canadian are the longstanding bilateral relations between
  India and Canada, which are built upon a "mutual commitment to
  democracy, pluralism, and people-to-people links.
• Bilateral trade between India and Canada was at about C$2.45
  billion.
Indo-Columbia Relations

• Both countries established diplomatic ties on January 19, 1959.
• Colombia is currently the commercial point of entry into Latin
  America for Indian companies.
                   Indo-Paraguay Relations

• India and Paraguay established diplomatic relations on September
  13, 1961.
• India is represented in Paraguay through its embassy in Buenos
  Aires, Argentina and an honorary consulate in Asuncion. Since 2005,
  Paraguay has had an embassy in New Delhi.

• TCS opens office in Lima, Peru July 2010.
• CII delegation visit to Brazil, Peru and Chile 1-8 September
  2010.
• Patni Computer Systems Opens New IT Delivery Center in
  Queretaro, Mexico on 12 March 2010.
• Renuka Sugar buys another Brazilian company for US$ 329
  million February 2010.
• India opens an embassy in Guatemala.
• Five year multi entry visa for Indian businessmen visiting
  Argentina... free of cost....can t believe it..but true !
Future Prospects

• Building on operational preferential trade agreements to
  negotiate comprehensive economic partnership
  agreements.
• Focusing on investment-led trade as entry points to
  regional markets.
• Greater emphasis on services trade across sectors such as
  software, education and skill development, tourism, etc.
• Higher business-to-business interaction through dedicated
  sectoral and regional dialogue platforms and Incentivising
  new sea lines of communication.

Introduction India • India officially republic of India, is a country in South East Asia. • It is the seventh largest country by geographical area,and the most populous democracy in the world. • India had 1,068,600,000 people in 2003 (17% of the world total), the world's second largest country in population after China. • Industrialization and Development grew since 1990s. • India is the second largest producer of grains. • India has the largest deposit of high-grade iron ore in the world. • India produces 3.8 percent of the world's coal

Latin America’s Culture • Languages:- Spanish and Portuguese are the predominant language. • Religion:- The primary religion throughout Latin America is Christianity and most of them are roman Catholics. • Dance:- Vibrant Dance and music like salsa, merengue and bachata. • Tourist spots:-Rio-de-Jinareo, La Paz (Bolivia),etc.

Latin America’s Geography • Latin America is surrounded by Atlantic ocean in the east, pacific ocean on the west and Caribbean sea in the north. • Countries(21) which included Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Cuba etc. • Latin America occupies half of all the Americas territory, and it includes all the climates you can ever think of. A grossly general distribution of climates would be as follows:- 1. Northern Mexico: Desert 2. Southern Mexico, Central America, Northern Colombia and Venezuela: Tropical 3. Most of Brazil: Tropical 4. All Central-Western South America: Mountain climates 5. Central South America: Grassland 6. Southern South-America: Tundra

The Tropic of Cancer passes through northern India. • India is bounded to the southwest by Arabian sea, to the south east by Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean to the south. • India share its boundary with Pakistan, Nepal, China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Sri-Lanka, Myanmar. • India is divided into 28 states and 7 union territories. • India is divided into various physiographic regions which includes mountains, plateaus, desert, islands and coastal region. • The monsoon(the seasonal reversal of wind systems) is the dominant climate force with summer and winter.
  • 12. The political system • For the past fifty years, Latin America has been overwhelmed by the power of military dictatorships which deeply affected society as a whole. Few Latin American countries escaped military rule. • The power of the military dictatorships rested on the doctrine of National Security, whereby the armed forces were awarded the role of political guardians. • Politics of India take place in a framework of a federal parliamentary multi-party representative democratic republic.

BRIC • In economics, BRIC (typically rendered as "the BRICs" or "the BRIC countries" or known as the "Big Four") is a grouping acronym that refers to the related countries of Brazil, Russia, India, and China • Emerging Nations-encompass over 25% of the world's land coverage and 40% of the world's population and hold a combined GDP (PPP) of 15.435 trillion dollars. • Goldman Sachs predicts China and India- dominant global suppliers of manufactured goods and services while Brazil and Russia dominant as suppliers of raw materials

India relations with Latin America  Indo-Brazil Relation • The primary export commodities from Brazil include transportation equipment, iron ore, soybeans, footwear and coffee. • The primary export commodities to Brazil include machinery, chemicals, oil, automotive equipments and parts, and electronics • Both countries want the participation of developing countries in the UNSC permanent membership

Indo-Mexico Relations • Trade between India and Mexico amounted to US$1.6 billion in 2006-2007, compared with only US$251 million in 1990- 1991. • Mexican exports to India: mainly Crude • Indian Exports to Mexico: pharmaceuticals; gems & jewellery power sector equipment and auto parts. • The Major difficulty behind the promotion of trade between the two nations is geographical distance, lack of direct shipping facilities, expensive credit, language barrier.

Indo-Argentina Relations • Formal relations between both the countries were first established in 1949. • India has an embassy in Buenos Aires and Argentina has an embassy in New Delhi.  Indo-Canada Relations • Indo-Canadian are the longstanding bilateral relations between India and Canada, which are built upon a "mutual commitment to democracy, pluralism, and people-to-people links. • Bilateral trade between India and Canada was at about C$2.45 billion.

Indo-Columbia Relations • Both countries established diplomatic ties on January 19, 1959. • Colombia is currently the commercial point of entry into Latin America for Indian companies.  Indo-Paraguay Relations • India and Paraguay established diplomatic relations on September 13, 1961. • India is represented in Paraguay through its embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina and an honorary consulate in Asuncion. Since 2005, Paraguay has had an embassy in New Delhi.

Future Prospects • Building on operational preferential trade agreements to negotiate comprehensive economic partnership agreements. • Focusing on investment-led trade as entry points to regional markets. • Greater emphasis on services trade across sectors such as software, education and skill development, tourism, etc. • Higher business-to-business interaction through dedicated sectoral and regional dialogue platforms and Incentivising new sea lines of communication.
