4. Technology has become a huge part in alot of peoples live today
The use of technology has become a number 1 way of communicating using
Socia media sites such as facebook, twitter, email, and texting.
The use of social media has not had an overall impact on our
Communities around the world.
5. Nearly One in four people worldwide use a form of social
networking
there are aproximatley 1.73 billion users around the
world.
The use of technology as well as social media has
changed the way we communicate with one another as
well as where we gather our information from.
Alot of people can not go even a few mins without
checking their phone or checking different social media
sites.
6. Some of the negative effects of engaging in the
use of social media
●
Distractions ( workplace,home,school,jobs)
● Bullying
● Lack of excersize
● Less time spent with family and freinds

more it seems to have control over our lives, we
spend more time online then ever before.
●
●
Developments in technology have led to a
decline in normal social behaviour.
People have been known to cut themselves off
from the world because they are to focused on
what is happening on their social networking sites
rather then talking to there family and freinds
around them.
●
8. Technology and social media has had a huge
effect on teens and adolesents. Teens beleive
what they see over the internent for example the
use of alchol and drugs to body image types that
they should be. This can lead to eating disorders
as well as depression and cuclusion from the
outside world.
The use of technology has made many people
less active and less involved in their community,
they do not want to take the time to excersive
because they feel they will miss something if they
step away from there computer or phone.
9. The use of technology can effect how we perform
in a working environment. Alot of people have
their phones on when they are at work and dont
focus on what they should be doing, employees
can get fired or get in trouble if they are on their
phones or using their computer for other things
that are not work related.
10. Solutions
Turn off your phone while your at work
● Take time to spend more time with family and
freinds without your phone
● Log out of social media sites if you are not using
them
●Set a limit for the amount of time you think you
should spend a day online or using your phone
●
11. Theory
Technology and the effects that social media has
on people is related to the symbolic interactionist
perspective. Social media has alot to do with how
we behave in our society, as well as how we
interact and fit in. Individuals act differently based
on what they have access to and what they have
around them.
