- Enter your name & school before you present Note: This latest power point reflect the changes made Monday 2.14.11 by McREL & DPI This power point is differnet then one form 1.31.11 There is non-alignment between teacher directions and what they see on computer screen Couple of things to consider: Notify Teachers to bring their fall self assessment for 2010 to session Discuss navigating within NCEES using green row/breadcrumbs ( to go backwards in NCEES) vs blue arrows of internet explorer (later will kick you out of NCEES)

- Same process to observe and evaluate teachers new system to manage components Moving away from paper process. - Sept 2 nd 2010 State Board of Education authorizes full deployment of all components of NCEES for all LEAs (Local Education Agencies) in 2011-12. ~25 districts doing so this year I-SS opted to meet the minimum requirement while introducing NCEES in a timely manner to teachers and administrators Content Same as Before
- Required documents: PDP, Summative Evaluation as appropriate and Record of Teacher Activity form March 16 th ERPD will provide orientation to Summative Evaluation process Content Same as Before
- Intent of February ERPD is to introduce NCEES, demonstrate how to access and provide teachers with opportunity to interact with system (Self-Assessment) Teachers will enter self assessment data from fall of 2010 Beginning teacher and probationary teacher compete summative evaluation using NCEES by 4/15/11 Administrators trained in above by HR Piloting entire NCEES process at 7 schools with one or two teachers Third Creek, Central, Shepherd Lake Norman Elementary, Woodland Heights, Troutman Middle, lake Norman High Summative will pre populate a preliminary PDP Teacher composes PDP online after collaborative discussion with administrator at beginning of year Contet Same as Before

- Note pictures on teacher direction is different then what teachers will see on computer. This screen shot is what they will see. This was changed 2.14.11 “self assessment status” When teacher has completed they will click” I have completed my self assessment If they want to share self assessment with principal (and we hope they do) then click “The principal can view my self assessment” This is covered on slide 27
- Note after we review the next few slides you (teachers) will begin to fill in your self-assessment from the fall self-assessment data by clicking in the appropriate boxes. Once you click a box, a checkmark will appear, as in above example. Intent is to give teachers opportunity to interact with NCEES. Know that this self-assessment will eventually be saved into NCEES at end of activity and ideally be shared with your administrator. Please be accurate. Content Same as Before
- For today’s activity it is your choice how completely you want to fill this section out. Next year in the fall you may want to use this section to communicate information to support self-assessment performance rating to your administrator. Content Same as Before
