Class, today we will begin learning about the four distinct seasons that some states and countries experience, depending on where they are located. Can any one tell me what this season is? (Point to top left, which is fall). What about this one? (Point to bottom right, summer). Good job class, let’s begin.
The first month we are going to concentrate on is fall. This season brings lots of colors to life because instead of the leaves being green, they now change colors. What colors do you see in this picture? Good! Fall starts in the middle of September and goes all the way till December 21st! Does anyone know the season that comes after fall is over?
After the fall season, winter is the next to come. Winter typically lasts from December to March. These are very cold months and often times snow and ice will form because it is so cold. What fun things do some of you do during our winter break when there is snow on the ground?
Spring follows the winter season and runs from the middle of March till the middle of June. During the spring time, the snow will begin to melt, although it may still snow during these months. The leaves will start to grow and flowers will begin blooming. It begins to get warmer because summer is almost here!
Our final season of the complete cycle is summer. Summer are the very hot months where everything is green and very pretty. This season lasts from June to September, so pretty much the entire time you’re on summer vacation!! Can anyone tell me the difference between summer and spring? They look pretty similar but there is one major difference! Yes, that’s right! Summer has leaves that have bloomed while spring is usually a time where the branches are still bare with no leaves.
