Florida State University European Graduation Tour Summer 2009
For a third year in a row, the FSU Alumni Association is offering a 16 day, seven country
European Graduation Tour for recent graduates and young alumni. The trip offers FSU alumni
an introduction to the major cities across Western Europe, but also includes a sampling of
smaller ones. The trip will begin in London and continue onto Paris, Brussels, the Rhine River
valley region of Germany, Munich, Salzburg, the Austrian alpine resort town of Zell Am See,
Venice, Florence and Rome. There is an optional Greece Add-On for those that would like to
extend their stay in Europe for an additional five days.
The dates for the European Odyssey (London to Rome) portion are May 15th to May 30th, 2009
and the Greece Add-On dates are May 30th to June 11th, 2009. Included on the tour is
transportation to each city on a luxury coach bus, stays at 3 to 4 star hotels in safe locations,
breakfast every day, half of the dinners, a European Tour Director to guide travelers to each
destination, and five in-depth city tours with registered city guides.
In addition to city tours, other activities include a pub crawl in London, a chocolate factory tour
in Brussels, a cruise down the Rhine River, a Roman banquet dinner and a toga party on a
Greek island. Extra optional excursions are available for purchase. These include a cabaret show
in Paris, whitewater rafting in the Alps, a gondola ride through the canals in Venice, a tour of
the famous Accademia Gallery in Florence, and a Sistine Chapel tour in Vatican City.
The price is $3,077 for the European Odyssey and $856 for the Greece Add-On. To book,
alumni must make a $500 deposit, and the remainder is due 90 days prior to departure. There
is no deadline to book, but there are only 48 seats on a tour and no more reservations can be
taken after it is filled.
A once in a lifetime experience, the Graduation Tour is a chance to travel and bond with fellow
alumni. For additional information on the Graduation Tour, contact Ms. Keshonda Walker at the
FSU Alumni Association or visit www.gradtours.us/fsu.
