High Level Solution Description:
• emrAnyWhere is an App that provides a Real-time Access to the Medical Records. It also
Provides a Messaging tool & a Lab Result Alerter.
• The Medical Records are overlaid with the data from HIEs / other sources. The Patient is
also provided with Additional Information (Say, Drug Lithographs) sourced from Public
Domain
• The App displays the Issues in the Medical History (Abnormal Labs / Vitals, Chronic
Conditions, Social History Items) on the Main Page
Healthcare/Business problem addressed:
• Lack of Access to Medical Records
• Paucity of Information Relevant to the Medical History (Most Patients Resort to Google
Searches for Information on Conditions / Meds)
• Reliance on Phone Calls from Doctors’ Offices for Getting Alerts
• No Way of Interacting with the Providers Except for Phone or In-Person Visits. Email are
Not Used by Providers – This App Puts the Messaging Inside the EMR. Gong Forward the
App will be Enhanced by Getting the Patient to Enter Discrete Medical Data Instead of
just text

Patient downloads the App & Configures it by Selecting the Care Provider(s) & Entering Own
Demographic Information (Used for Matching with Provider’s Records)
App Automatically links the Patient to the State / Other HIEs (NY State Covered in Initial Launch)
Patient can View Medical Records on the App. The App Automatically fetches the Data from
Associated Providers & HIEs and Displays in an Easily Understandable Format
Feeds from Multiple Sources used to Provide Extra Information (For Example, Data Pulled Using
InfoButton Format from MediLinePlus) on the Medical History Elements
Other Issues Culled from Abnormal Labs / Vitals / Social History / Chronic Conditions are
Displayed on the Landing Page (For example, Smokers see a Smoker Icon and then a Slew of
Smoking Cessation Links)
Uses a Secure Messaging Feature / “Talk to My Provider” Links next to the Medical History
Elements for Sending Alerts to Provider(s). Pushing Directly into the Task List Ensures a Response
A Blue Button is Provided so that the Patient can Download the Medical History

The App is under Development. A Prelim Provider-Side Beta Version is Available
on AppStore
The Patient Side App will be Derived from the Provider Version (Albeit with a lot
of UI changes) and will be Linked to AllScripts & SHIN-NY. APIs from
MedLinePlus, Aetna, GoodRx will be used as required
App will conform to BlueButton Standards for Downloading Medical History

- 7. Integration Description – API Calls
Identifying a Patient Correctly while Registering for the App Usage
• Search the patient based upon Demographic parameters (Name, DoB). If there is a match (or multiple
matches), App confirms the ID by posing challenge questions like SSN or Zip Code. Patient MRN &
Practice Mapping stored on App Servers
• API Calls : GetPatientList for fetching the list of matching patients followed by GetPatientInfo using the
MRN. Multiple calls will be sent validating for each of the patients matched
Accessing the Patient’s Medical Records
• Patient MRN used to request the CCD file or the Sections
• API Calls : GetPatientCDA or GetPatientSections
Retrieving Latest Lab Results & Vitals
• Patient MRN used to request the file
• API Calls : GetPatientSections
Retrieving Vaccination History
• Patient MRN used to request the file
• API Calls : GetPatientSections

- 8. Integration Description – API Calls
Adding Tasks for the Providers (Messages)
• Tasks added for a Particular Provider and Associated with the Patient using the App. Used when the
Patient clicks on the “Messages “or the “Talk to My Provider” links
• API Calls : GetProviders to get a List of Providers in the Practice Followed by SaveTask for the Provider
Selected by the Patient. The Patient Associated to that Task using the MRN
Retrieving Tasks for a Particular Patient (Messages)
• Returned to the Patient along with the Name of the Provider & Task (Message) Details
• API Calls : GetTaskList used to get all the tasks for the “emrAnyWhere” user followed by GetTask to
locate tasks meant for the particular patient (Filtering by the special user created for user
“emrAnyWhere” & the patient using the app)
Retrieving Patient’s Upcoming Appointments
• All Providers in the Practice polled for Appointments Matching the Patient’s MRN. Returned to the
Patient along with the Name of the Provider, Location, Date & Time
• API Calls : GetSchedule filtered by the Patient
NOTE : When the App Usage is Enabled at a Practice, a New User called “emrAnyWhere”
will be Created. The App will log on using these Credentials. The Tasks etc will be Picked
up Using this User

- 9. Go to Market Plans
Information on business plans,
• It will be launched on the AllScripts Store in addition to the iTunes
AppStore. KMG would be launching a sales campaign to push this App
to the Larger Practices across the country. The campaign would include
Mailers sent thru Post & Email. The App would also be showcased at the
various HealthIT & mHealth forums where KMG participates. KMG will
attempt to convince the Doctors to advise their patients to start using the
App
• It will Target the Patients of Large Practices. The App Provides an
Alternative to the Patient Portal
• Free for the Patients. $25/Month for the Providers Interested in Letting
their Patients have this Access. Will be Sold to the Practices

consumer no longer thinks of using browsers as convenient. They need everything on their
phones as Apps. This App does exactly that
By overlaying external data, emrAnyWhere adds a lot of value to the Patient’s Medical
History. The Patient is not just told he/she suffers from Diabetes; the App provides a lot
additional details (Alerts, Education Material, Details from local HIEs, Ability to Interact with
the Providers)
