7. What We Learned
Throughout this program, we learned about the city of
charlotte, the issues it faces, and the people who work it.
Over many different meetings, we engaged with different
community leaders and learned about different aspects of
Charlotte.
8. Why It Matters
This matters so we can become strong leaders
in our community and make a positive change.
To help others become strong leaders as well.
10. Possible Solutions
-Have a student be a member of the school board
-Rezone school districts to make the schools more
diverse
-Plant sustainable gardens in food deserts (Ex:
Sow much good)
11. Things We Did Part 1
-Visited the Bank of America building
-Visited a law firm
-Walked all around the city
-Practice planning regional development
-Meet regional leaders in the community

-Talk about CMS
-Listen in on a School Board and City Council Meeting
-Learn about the communities in Mecklenburg County
-Explore the Charlotte observer newsroom
-Visited the Mecklenburg County Courthouse
