9. We chose to use an Institutional
Ownership Model in conjunction with
the Apple Configurator Program
because we wanted to retain ownership
of all apps that we pre-installed on the
James P. Adams Library iPads. We
have a “media lab” style setting where
iPads will be checked in and out from
our library’s Reserves Desk for a
relatively short period of time. Most
of the iPads will be going out for 2
weeks and the rest of the iPads will be
going out for 24 hours.

10. The Institutional Ownership Model in
conjunction with Apple Configurator has
allowed us to pre-load with about 40 apps
and web clips (about 2 pages worth of
icons).
All of our iPads are connected to a
centrally controlled iTunes account that is
set up with Apple Configurator. We
download the free apps through iTunes
and the paid apps through the Apple
Volume Purchase Program Education
Store.

Account) to enroll in the Apple Volume
Purchase Program (VPP) for my
institution
2. Program Facilitator Account to
purchase
pay apps in the Apple VPP Education
Store
3.An iTunes Account to purchase
