English11 isdesigned to bea year-longconversation aboutliteratureandlanguagewithin a community of
readers andwriters. You can expect to bereadingand writingevery day,aswell ascreatingpresentations
and other projects,reviewinggrammarand increasingyourvocabulary,collaboratingingroups,and sharing
your ideaswith yourpeers.
This isgoingto bea busy year for all of us—bereadyfor it. You’vegottheSATs, the Common CoreELA
Regents exam,and the Junior Thesispaper and presentation, in addition to your other classes,extra-
curriculars,sports,jobs,you nameit… Itwill requirea greatdeal of focus,diligence,and organization on your
part.Itis my sincerehopethatthiscoursewill allowyou to seeliteratureina newlight,and seethebenefits
of your hard work—andof course,much, much more. I lookforward to an excitingyearwith you!
