6. Advertising Ideas
The idea behind my advertising my film is displaying our films poster in built up
sociable areas, such as shopping centre billboards and bus stop shelters, where
the general public will be instantly drawn to the poster because it uses a white
striking back drop with only one character shown. This will intrigue people as
there is little information that they can retrieve from the poster apart from the
necessary facts e.g. Actors, Director, Certificate, Production Company. Using the
one image allows people to make the own judgements on what the film, however
we added simplistic clues such as the red coloured font and the fact that she is
looking down in the pictures, suggests guilt and upset. We also thought of putting
our poster in niche market film magazines; such as Little White Lies and Film
Maker Magazine as they are ideal target audience. Our review we have created to
be shown in our own made up film magazine ‘Slice of Cinema’ which is a indie film
magazine for niche market audiences.
7. USP (Unique Selling Point)
The USP for our film is that it follows the film noir genre. I feel that
throughout our three products we have presented this well, through
costume, sound, camera work, editing and font styles. Keeping things
the same or similar in all three products has enabled my finished
product to look more like a professional media package.
8. Wider Audience
We have a created our product for smaller audiences 15-25 however we feel
that our products will be able to appeal to wider audiences through our
chosen marketing techniques. The film and review itself may not instantly
intrigue them, but seeing the poster in built up public places, like shopping
centres will instantly grab their attention as it is striking and eye catching.
The films poster will also be displayed outside cinema screens as this is where
larger audiences who enjoy a variety of films will be found. Social networking
site will also have an impact in advertising our film, which will help attract
audiences massively as the majority of our target audience spend time on
sites such as facebook and twitter so this would be the perfect opportunity to
s how off our upcoming film.
