On September 28th of 2012, a solid rain episode took
place in Puerto Lumbreras that poured 120 litres/m2 in
one hour
Watercourses of Béjar and Viznaga overflowed
A wide area was flooded and several roads were
completely closed. As a result part of the population
had to be evacuated and even rescued from the
rooftops

112 Emergency Center received 1.649 calls which have
led the emergency device presence in 1.463 incidents
releated to heavy rains.

q INUNMUR Plan was activated in pre-emergency stage on September
27th, because of AEMET warning. (State Meteorological Agency)
q Emergency Stage Level 1 for INUNMUR, was activated at 12:45 on
September 28th, and became a Level 2 at 13:05 due to unfavorable
evolution of the meteorological conditions. Military Emergency Unit (UME)
intervention was requested.
